Won my first MTT
I won my first MTT Saturday Night. 180 people, $8 MTT. Ive had goodluck lately with the MTT's and I attribute it to just going back and playing Tight Poker. As important as I know that changing gears and reading your opponents bets are Ive come to the conclusion that Tight play and letting them make the mistakes is the strategy for me.

i dont think that in a mtt you have to be as tight as in a sng...
the thing is that the stack's size is very important when the tables are "equilibrated??" Not oa lot of strategy on this particular type of poker, anyone knows if something really good exists on this strategy ? |

yup yup, thats probably the best tourney strategy there is. But, i also like to throw in the occassional steal of the blinds in late position. Cant say ive won a mtt, but i know with that kind of strategy my time will come. Congrats on your win bro.

Grats, MTT's are tough when it comes to placing first. Heck of an achievement. It can be rough when you are not getting any cards, I usually get frustrated, decide to loosen up before the blinds eat me, and make a silly donk play with crappy cards.

First Win
Congrats,
I agree with CanOkie. Please another while the confidence is ready high. I have won several small buys 9 and 18 person buys in but never a 90 person. One of the lady pros announced one time to play all you can while the cards are running good and you are feeling like you are on top of the world because it will change. |
