| Women's etiquette at the table I have seen a curious scene during a lady event of the 2010 World Series Of Poker, in the 1000$ buy-in no-limit holdem, about 4 tables over the entire table gets up at the same time, it seems like one of the girls had to use the bathroom and instead of letting her blind out the the other ladies mercifully got up and went to use the bathroom together. The dealer didn't know what to do and was stopped by the floor person because he needed at least a player to return before starting back. Last edited by 17Fabrizio17 : 2nd July 2010 at 6:19 PM. |

I hope you shit your pants at a live tourney & lose half your stack while looking for a new pair of shorts to wear back to the table. Who cares if they have designated women's poker events? I think it's great. Gives them an occassion to get together & play in a poker tournament... what's the f'n big deal? (it's not like there's some added prizepool you're being denied of). Hearing they all got up from the table at the same time in order to save one of them from losing blinds.... I think that's really cool. |

| Funny thing is that the women's only events are no longer "women's only". Due to discriminatory laws in Nevada, anyone can technically register for the Ladies Only WSOP event. In fact, this year there were 3 or 4 guys actually registered for this event, including 1 guy who knocked out this guy at my table yesterday's wife. So if you want to play in a soft field (even though you would also be a giant douche), feel free to register in the Ladies Only event next year. |

| re: Women's etiquette at the table poker I think it was a cool thing to do, as long as one didn't rush back and start stealing blinds.... Yes women are good at this type of thinking, men generally hopeless... BTW works much better if the women bring some beer back for the guys in the room, and some snacks.. |

| Btw, If I shit my shorts. I dont expect anybody at my table to have any sympathy on me. Its probably already my fault and they should know better than to do that. When the women get up and do that, they essentially are telling the tournament director/organisers that the pre set breaks mean nothing to them and that they make their own rules. You see what I am saying? It can also be a benefit to them if it occurs on the bubble. Unfair advantage against the other tables etc. Btw, when you read the blog, I really dont want to argue the 'civil rites' reasons, Im just talking about the characteristics that make the women's event a jopke. |

| re: Women's etiquette at the table poker Would you all be getting your panties in a bunch if it just happened to be a table full of women at a regular event? Male or female, it was a nice thing to do. And besides, everyone knows girls all have to go to the bathroom together. It's chick law...lol. |

| I don't see why there shouldn't be a women-only event, and it's quite sad that people feel the need to make so much fuss about it. The more women involved in poker the better, as far as I'm concerned. Actually that's one of the best things about CardsChat too, there's a great bunch of female forum members posting on a regular basis. |

The pathetic thing is that a group of women acted civilized towards each other during a poker game and some yahoos feel the need to ridicule them for behaving with decency.......Now, that's the real joke.... |

I'm happy to see another dude who thinks this way about the women's event. So ridiculous to hear guys bitching about "its not fair". Not even thinking about all of the ways they have probably benefited from being a male in our society already. Yeah you and I get some special treatments on an everyday basis because we've got one swingin between our legs. Let the women have their own event and let them enjoy it without your whining. Stix |

As for the synchronised bathroom breaks thing... meh, if the whole table was happy and wanted to do it then I don't see any problem. There's a borderline problem since nobody's paying any blinds while they're away but I don't really thing anyone gained much tournament-wise. They all stopped paying blinds for a few minutes but they also stopped accumulating chips and there'll be the same amount on the table when they return as when they left. I can see this being a problem if they all elected to leave the table and didn't come back for, say, the rest of the level or something and intentionally missed having to pay a load of blinds while other tables kept playing and getting blinded out. But if it was five minutes I don't think it's a big deal. One other thought, for those complaining about this: Justin Bonomo proudly tells a story about a hand he once had against Men the Master. A friend of Justin's is at the table and badly needs to go to the bathroom. Men the Master goes all in preflop, Bonomo finds himself holding two aces but instead of calling he tanks, telling his friend to go to the bathroom because he'll need a few moments to think. Bonomo waits for his friend to get back before calling... and IIRC karma hit about then because Men sucked out and won the pot. I thought that was hilarous when I read it the first time and really that's a lot worse than an entire table declaring a synchronised bathroom break. If you can laugh at that then you're applying double standards pretty badly. * I'm not calling card counters douchebags, BTW - just guys who play in women's events. |

We may have come a long way, baby, but we still have a long way to go toward gender equality as Stix so wisely says. After all, the womens' event was initiated to keep the wives and girlfriends occupied while their men were playing poker for hours and some men to this day think that's where the gals belong. To this day, some men don't feel that women should be playing poker at all...ask me how I know . As for the mass exodus to the potty, I think that's not only hilarious but positively ingenious! So you and your table can just stop at any time in a tournament? Oh, we're on the bubble, time for us all to hit the bathroom! Forget that it's a ladies even, that's irrelevant. The fact that this happened at all, in any event, is absurd. |
