Winnings ---> Buyin SnG challenge

This was done a while back, but I think it was a great idea and want to try it myself again and I think you guys should too. It gives you great experience at levels above what your bankroll would allow, and it needs some good discipline to do well.

FEB CHALLENGE TO ALL PLAYERS

As tenbob expains in ^^^this thread, you play a SnG, and if you win you take those winnings and use them to enter the highest possible entry SnG.

Ex: enter $10 10-seater, get 1st place which pays $50, then enter a $45 or $40 SnG (as $50 would have $5 fee on it, too much to play with $50 winnings).

See how far you can get

I'm going to start with a $5 6-seater at Titan and work my way up.

Playing 2x $22 sit and go's and a $30 MTT at the moment, but when i bust out ill undoubtly have a shot at a few turbos Chuck. I still owe someone $$$$$$$$ from the last challenge btw, i think it was Sammy.

well, through that beat I still won it. Not only were the players way too passive shorthanded, but I got a very nice (and unnecessary) rush of cards.

On to the $20! (I'll just throw $1 to make up for the missing $1 for fee):

4th in the $20. Several beats put me behind (see SSs) when the blinds were massive. One guy pushed into me several times and I called knowing I had the better hand, only to see it get outdrawn.
Going to keep trying, starting with the $5s again

It's a nice change of scenery after sticking to $10 Turbo after $10 turbo for me...

I won't be playing in many today; about to play a freezout before I play the sunday buyin.

I will try this later on today. I can't at the moment. I've got a houseful of girls running around...when my friend's girls go home, I will definitely need a nice, relaxing game of poker!

This sounds like fun...

so if I start at $6 buy in, come in 2nd and win $15, and then buy into the $11 SNG, come in 3rd, $20, and play in the $22 SNG, then come in 1st, and buy into the $109 SNG, etc?

I can't guarantee that if I make it up to the $109 sng and win $500, that I will play in the $530 buy in SNG

Hit alt+print screen button on your keyboard to capture screenshot of the active window.

Open paint, and hit Ctrl+V to paste it. Crop it how you like, then save it as a .jpeg. Make sure you save as jpeg or CC wont let you upload it.

When you make a reply in a thread, go to advanced options, then 'Manage Attachments'.

Browse for your pic, then hit upload and presto you've attached your screenshot to your post

Are we working off of the profit? because really I only profitted $9 on that one

Also, are we allowed to play it safe? Build up money with SNG and only move up once we have 2 buyins at that level to give ourelves more odds without having to start over?

Question - let's just say (for fun) I win the $20 SNG and win $90...there's only $100 or $50 SNG's at Stars for me to choose from. Would it be OK to use $10 of my 'regular' BR to play the $100? Or should I play the $50 instead?

but when do you stop doing profit ? because if you do profit the first time, then your buyin to the second one is actually profit too.

Edit: heh noticed you used the entirely of your $21 winnings + added a $1 from your bankroll for your secon game Are you being serious in your above responses, or just joking around?

Bought in to the $11 one and just finished it up... out in 5th with AQ vs 45, an I had 1200 chips to start the round, I was raised and went all in from SB.... I had AQ os vs 45o/s

And sorry, it wasn't profits, it was winnings. Ex: I win a $5 6-seater, that's $21 bucks ($16 profit), then I can pay $21 for my next entry. I just added the $1 because I thought it was small enough to not make too much of a difference.

How about we make a rule that if you win enough to pay the buyin but not the fee that you can take the fee out of 'your own money'?

Well, I busted out in 4th in the $22 one...some goon with 3/4s thought it would be fun to call my 4xbb raise...I was going to post the hand history, but I don't feel like digging for it right now..

Here is my first one, decided to do a 20 player sit-n-go! $5+0.50 buy in. And BINGO $50 Buckers!!! So thats $44.50 profit!

So I'm lookin at all the higher level Sit-n-go's on Titan and they are very bare, no action at all! I'll have to look on another day!

So I had $44.50 profit. I found a $30 + $3 sit-n-go with 6 players. Some real aggresive donks here. Finally had a hand, thought about calling for a while, and...........well yuck!! No Queen, anything but a Queen! I checked the ODDS and I was 72% pre-flop. Oh well, I'll take that 72% any time! I have $11.50 left over for profit, so Now I'll do a $10+$1.
