why play poker
To all the beginners out there you need to ask yourself one question. Why play poker? Make sure you have the funds and the patience to play poker for money. Dont start playing because it looks cool on tv. There are too many sharks out there waiting for you.

Why play chess, why play any game or other sporting event? To challenge yourself, to learn and to have fun. Sindri is right on the money when he said there are a lot more bad players out there than there are good. In order to get good one needs to learn and CC is the best place for that by far. There is a very talented and freindly group who are always happy to help other players learn.

But you're right overall. Also consider crafters and people who paint or sculpt for a hobby. The goal there just like in poker, is to have what you love doing pay for it's self and then some. My neighbor plays golf every week. He doesn't make money, but catches a nice beer buzz. He also spends a small fortune on equipment, collectibles, and time on the course(I think that's what it's called. I just see it as a great big field of grass with a zen garden on one side and a pond on the other :P). Just saying... So, the OP they're a flame magnet, troll, sore loser? What? |
