Why play @ 6 person tables?
I've always been a person who played at 10 person tables, and I'm wondering if I should make a switch, because it seems a lot of better people like 6 person tables.
What are the advantages to a 6 person table, anyone know? Any information would be greatly appreciated. If you play at 6 person tables, tell me why. ![]() Jon |

well you have to play a lot more hands, so it keeps your concentration
its is also less boring its also harder to play as the range of hands you have to play increases, as does your opponents the swings are higher as well due to playing more pots sometimes you can't find a full ring game (though unlikely if playing holdem) as its harder short handed some of the play if you find a nice table can be rather profitable if your going to make a switch i suggest starting out at a lower limit than you usually play to gain some experience (wish i had) |

Grumble has hit a lot of the major points...
6-handed play requires you to play more hands, thus your bankroll tends to swing more. You will need a bigger bankroll to play 6-handed at the same level you would play 10-handed... As Grumbledook also said, I would drop down a limit or two to really learn how to play 6-handed, it is a slightly different animal... |

I like the 6 max because you can play a bigger variety of hands with much better odds. You can really mix up your play at these tables! I tend to do better at these tables for some reason. It's especially an advantage at SNGs, due to the fact that you don't have to wait for as many people to get knocked out, so the games go a lot faster!

Cant add anything to what Grumbledook said. I prefer 6 player games for SnG's - 2 or 3 players will be rubbish (on Noble!!) making reaching money easy enough - some 6 player tables on Noble play 1,2,3. Last $10 or $20 6 player SnG's I've played there, I've won 4, 2nd once and 3rd once, and only one of those wins was lflukey. Last one I played, we were down to business end of tourney before 20th hand.

they do have something like that at noble called the 'dirty dozen'....win 4 in a row for 2k jackpot its a 2.35 buyin...prizes are as follows 12, 6, 3.60, 2.40 (1st to 4th repectivly).
as far why play at a 6 person table...easy...if your an agressive player who likes playing weeker hands, you can get away with it more here. if you are a tighter player who is real patient and waits for his moments, youd rather have more players (and that means more chips to get when you have the nuts), so youd got for 10 player tables. |
