Why people tilt?
Why do people tilt? What can we do to prevent it? Do you know when to leave the computer? Do you actually leave the computer when you know?

I tilt from outside distractions. When it gets too loud at home or I can't get my mind off non poker issues. Usually I am able to recognize when this is happening and not play. It's pretty rare for something at the table to put me on tilt. I expect bad beats and that I will sometimes make the wrong choice and don't beat myself up over them too much.

I usuallt get on tilt when people suck out on me with a bad hand or catch a 1 outer. And if people at my house are bothering me or i have something else on my mind i can get on tilt easily so i usually take a break for a while smoke a blunt or 2 then get back to it after ive calmed down

I actually havnt punched any holes in my wall, but like alot of people I have broken ummmm, 2 keyboards and at least 3-4 mice. Havnt done that in awhile though, mainly cuz ive gone semi-busto so havnt been tilting hard (no poker), plus I got a nice punching bag so no more broken electronics! |

wow you guys tilt pretty bad...when i tilt i just cuss and cuss at the person that beat me on a hand that they had gotten lucky on or something...that is the worst kind of tilt when someone gets a lucky catch on the river...that is when i tilt and the way they could prevent tilts is when people go all in with AA and lose to like 5 9 or something like that...believe me it happens...happended to me before and it is frustrating!!

I tilt for two reasons:
1 - There is a shark behind me raising and re raising and i can't put him on a hand 2 - When player "x" sucks out on me more than once, and then keeps betting into me...I just don't know what to do, i don't know if he will suckout again or if he eventually have a better hand.. Anyway, being on tilt is horrible |

Read the article, it's well worth your time and effort, and has VERY usable real game applications: for instance, someone who has just won a big pot, or just got even is more apt to fold (easier to bluff, Mike Caro has an entire lecture on this, btw); you may be familiar with the saying "when they are stacking chips they are tight". |

Honestly, and this isn't always the best option, I try not to play the next few hands after a bad beat (unless premiums of course). I just find that if I can take a tiny break, and let my mind settle back into the place it was before, I can really keep playing solid poker without donking off some or all of my chips on a tilt rage. Nothing worse...

I tilt when there is a player at the table who constantly plays any 2 cards in their hand, they call large preflop bets or raises with crap cards and then continue to call big bets and suck out. Although this type of player usually runs out of luck at some point I still get aggravated when I see this type of bad play.

I usually go on tilt, when I play a really awesome hand... against a donkey player... that kills my super hand with his rags... that really gets me angry... so I have to cool off, and try not to make too many anger mistakes... when this happens more then 5 times, with in the same hour of play... it's time to get up... it's just not your day... you need to cool off... and come back fresh... and I usually do.

One time on FT. (appropriate
) I was 2nd. seat with ten folks left in a Razz tourney, and I let 1st. seat tilt me out on the bubble in one hand. ![]() All I had to do was chill. It was obvious what he was up to, but like has been said elsewhere in this thread, I had other distractions which opened up a chink for this guy. I still flinch when I think about that. ![]() --- |

for me i hatewhen you play tight, fold anything but premies
such as i wont play A3o or crap like that(83, 72) yet more times than not they will catch 4 cards to my qq,kk,aa. and my all time fav. is when you have better hand and the drawer pushes and you make the call and he's busted with nothing then the good ole river spanks me like a bondage call girl. I was in ticket tourny, top 28 get $400 tic, i was in 17 with 36 to go AK outdrawn by A6, next hand AK outdrawn by k7, then next hand i had qq and i was on tilt big time, lost to 10 8, went out 34th AHHHHHHHG pisses me off just talking about it. ps i folded more than a chinese laundry before that |

I go on tilt when I'm playing multitable and the screen switches when I want to go all in or fold vice-versa. Folded a straight flush last week and called an all in clear flush with 9,3o yesterday. Healing method: NO MULTI-TABLE ANYMORE ...and I go on tilt when my cat pisses on my job-related papers or kills my plants. ![]() |

Tilty Tilty tisk tisk
Tilting at poker is the quickest way to lose it all. Some tilters don't even realize the way there game changes when they're tilting. Expect bad beats and dont play distracted. when it happens if u have to step away to gather urself do it. Losing a few blinds is better than tilting ur way to the rail
