| Why is live looser and online tighter? I frustrated by having to adjust my play at the live tables to online The casino players are looser and it seems more common to have 3,4,5 or the whole table seeing the flop Online the play is tighter and usually it's only 2 to the flop What do I do? |

| re: Why is live looser and online tighter? poker Online games are full of multi-tabling rakeback nits whereas live players are there to play hands. They're much worse players overall, but also, online players probably play looser live as well because A. it's boring to play 20-25 hands an hour and B. you might as well play a lot of pots with terrible players. |

That is tight still Thirty percent of 9 players would be 3 players I think a loose live full ring table would be more like 4-5 seeing the flop That would more like 50 percent Last edited by dlam : 1st December 2011 at 11:43 PM. |

| Live is looser because few people go all the way to a casino just to fold hands - it simply isn't fun. That said, there are different kinds of bad players, so there's no universal solution to the problem - what you need to do is identify who is playing how, and adjust accordingly. There are some players who will see every flop, but then allow themselves to be chased out every time they miss. C-bet these types liberally, or even better, raise preflop in an attempt to isolate them and get more money in. Others will call you down with any pair and chase every draw - in those cases, you have to wait until you hit and then punish them. In all cases, don't be afraid to raise / reraise your good hands preflop, and toss the hands that will get you in trouble rather than fixating on the implied odds of having so many people involved. |

plus, it's easy to fold online ... you don't feel like a wimp, whereas in person, you might be like OH NO YOU DIDNT, oh no you are not pushing me off this hand |

| Most live players are there to socialize and have fun, and are more willing to gamble, being at a casino and all. Online players are mostly there to make money. And also for some people it is embarrassing to fold a lot of hands live because the other players might look at you as a wimp. But the best strategy to play with loose players like that is to just play tight and go to value town when you make a hand. |
