whos your favorite poker pro?

I am sorry if I am creating too many threads but I am taking a break from the game so deal with it. I am sure that this has been asked b4 but I want to know whos your favorite pro. My favorite is Phil Ivey cuz he is fearless and very smart. In fact there's this guy in my gym who looks like his twin. So whats yours and why?

IMO: Hellmuth. Best Hold'em player around....Puts on a show either way, win or lose.
To me Phil Ivey is Very good, I'm sure he has one, but he seems to lack somewhat in the personality department, at least at the table. ...Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing. We all have our preferences.

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson! I like his personality and he's just a great player, and I've seen him make incredible reads. Also, as a challenge, he started out with $1 on an online poker site and worked his way up to $20,000 in just around 4 months.

Plus he can chop things in half by throwing playing cards at them! What's not to like?

Phil Ivey...I love his cocky but quiet personality. Plus, his style is unique. You never know what he is holding because he bets consistently the same, so you can't read his bluffs.

My favourite player and a celeb at the same time is Jennifer Tilly, especially after she won the Ladies No-Limit Texas Hold'em event at WSOP last year.
I really like not only her manner of playing, but also the quilities she shows when doing it and doing so many things at the same time. Besides, I saw her perform in a theatre once.

Favorite pro, just look at my avatar. Dan Harrington's style is the reason I started playing poker. I had always thought that poker players were wild wheeler and dealer types until I saw him. He fit my personality and I realized I may be able to try out poker after all. Besides, anyone who can make 2 WSOP final tables in a row has some serious game. And he gets a ton of respect from other pros.

I think the most entertaining maybe Marcel Luske. That guy always makes me laugh with his antics.

I would have to say my all time favorite is Johnny Chan! I think he is one of the best players allround. Whether ring game or tournament he is amazing. "The Orientel Express" has made some of the most amazing accomplishments so far. With all of his 10 bracelets he has won them in all types of poker from NL, Limit, Pot Limit Holdem, 7 card stud, omaha and 7 to 2 draw. Also to mention the back to back titles in 1987 and 88 and the 2nd place finish to Helmuth in 89. My second favorite I will have to agree with most of you on Phil Ivey. A rock as I call him because nothing will change his expression at the table. Solid as can be for a poker player.

No question. Harrington. Thoughtful, conservative, but also cagey and aggressive when needed. If not him, then Phil Ivey, but Ivey hasn't written any tomes for me to read and improve my game!

I love Negreanu and Hellmuth for entertainment's sake, and agree that Greenstein is to be admired by all as a person.

Ted Forrest is growing on me.

Got to go with Daniel Negreanu. Great player, great guy, and he's Canadian! Whats not to like. I also have a lot of respect for Phil Gordon. Hes not the best out there but a good player and he is a good writer who can explain the game very well.

re: whos your favorite poker pro?

Definitely Negreanu for me. He is such a great talker at the table without being a dick like a few others can be at times. If I was to pick second, I would say Chris Ferguson

Sitting on the European side of the pond i have to go for Hansen, a lot of people think He's too loose but the way i see it he'll open up any pot with any two cards but if you get to the river with him you can be sure your up against a premium hand. He has a great demeanour about him plus He's one of the best readers of the table around.

Robert Williamson reminds me of the 3rd place finisher in the last American Idol. lol .

How about David Williams or the other Young Guns? Him, D'agostino, Cassidy and Murphy (eh. not so much Murph) aren't my favorite, but they're up there IMO.

....wow. I just looked this up. Who would have thought Ivey is 30 years old..?!

Not in any particular order: Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, Doyle Brunson, David Williams, Chris Ferguson and of course Phil Ivey. Negreanu tops my list though.

I saw Jennifer Tilly on Celebrity Poker Showdown and she was unbelievably irritating! She continuously explained the poker terms to the audience and commented on EVERY SINGLE PLAY! I have added her to my list of most annoying poker players right under Mike "The Mouth" and just ahead of Phil Helmuth.

I LOVE JESUS! And Jesus loves me!

Okay, my favorite player is Chris Ferguson....he is an amazingly intelligent player who can read players and understands the math of the game as well an anyone.

As a person, how could you not like Daniel Negreanu? He has a great personality and is a real pleasure to have at any table.

Finally, I am a fan of the Godfather....Doyle Brunson. His smile is absolutely contagious.
