| The whole year of Frustration Good day to all visitors of this Great poker community. Starting my post, I want to apologize, if my English won't be on the excellent level, because it's secondary language for me, but anyway, I will try to do my best, speaking in the right way. Well, the main reason to write this thread is because I'm seeking for support and all advice, that people can give me. My problem is that I'm playing Online Poker for almost a whole year (and as you see in the title, this year is full of frustration for me) and I'm still really very bad in it. As a proof, I can say that I have never done cash-outs, and I'm only depositing money, last time I deposited all I had and again I lost them. There were times when I was depositing, for instance, $40-$50 and raising them up to $250, but later they were given out too. I really want to learn, how to play this game in a good way. Unfortunately, I don't have any real friends, who play poker, and that's why no one can give me advice in real life. Do not think please, that I'm fully stupid donk, and because of it I can't win anything. I'm not such an idiot, I have head and brains too. But... I see, that if I'm loosing for almost a year, then I do LOTS of mistakes. And since now I want to study hard, to start reading articles and so on. So I decided to seek for help in this community, because I see that there are lots of clever, talented and kind people, who may help. I will be glad, if anyone could give me kinda training process, for istance, what should I read first, what should I learn, what stakes should I play and things like that. I will be very glad also if any of you will PM me and maybe help me with ideas chatting. Thank you very much for attention. Thank you very much for all advice. Thank you very much for this community. With best regards, Kirill. |

| Great first post. You have come to the right place. This forum is full of people who play very well. Look through the hand analysis forum. When you have a hand that you feel like you are not playing properly post it there. Good Luck at the tables. I look forward to seeing many more of your posts. |

| Hello, You speak a second language better than many speak one don't worry about that Some more information would help, I presume you have been playing No Limit holdem, but are you playing cash (ring) games or tournaments? Also the buy-in you have been playing would be useful to know. General advice is to read as much as you can (the articles on this site are great, particularly those on bankroll management) and accept that losing is part of the game and that it may take a while before you are able to show a consistent profit. The good news is that it is definately a game that rewards study and effort so you are on the right track. As tosborn said, post some hands that you think you may have misplayed and you'll get some excellent feedback from the people here. |

| That's unbelievable! After a couple of minutes I have already got advice. Thank you mates. I understood about hands. I will post all hands that I will think I have misplayed, but for now, I'm not playing, because lost all money and for a moment I want to study and to learn theory, such us pot equity, EV... May I ask you if I will have any questions about that? And, Irexes, sure I accept losing, because I know it's a natural part of Poker, but you see, almost for an year I'm losing, because of my wrong play and it's not normal! You see? Almost forgot to say, that I tried to play Limit and NL, but I understood that to play NL, even very micro limit, I must have a huge bankroll. And as I can deposit only about $40-$50, so I play the smallest stakes that are on the site, where I play - $0.15-$0.30 Limit, but SH. Maybe I should play Full Table? Buy-in that I use for this stakes is $10. What about tournaments, I love them, and even almost read Harringtons first book, but I also understood that it's neccessary to have a huge bankroll to play tournaments. Harringtons books are great for understanding tournament play. Usually you need between 30 and 50 buyins for Multitables and 30 or more for single table SnGs, of course no amount is enough if you aren't a long term winner. One thing you may want to consider are freerolls, both as a cheap way of playing and also to start applying the theory you are learning in a risk free environment. |

Successful poker at low levels can be played pretty much following some very simple rules. Many people have neither the patience or desire to do this (it involves a lot of folding and they want to be Gus Hansen or bluff a lot) and so never become winners. Now they may be simple rules, but learning how to apply them takes time and seeing a positive return from applying these rules may take a lot longer. The fact you've bothered to search out forums, read a book and acknowledge that you are not winning due to your own lack of knowledge rather than saying "OMG its r1gged" says to me that you are someone who has the necessary patience and determination to make a success of it. You are going to ask what the "simple rules" are next, aren't you? |

| Hi Kirill, welcome to CC!!! Quote:
Your story sounds JUST LIKE mine before finding CardsChat... (a post of my story here: What type of player are you? ) As Jamile1 posted, the poker strategry section (Articles tab on the top of the page) is a great place to start...also read some of the hand analysis threads ( http://www.cardschat.com/f51/ (http://www.cardschat.com/f51/) ) ...it's also a great place to pick up tips on playing different types of hands. |

| Its called ABC poker. You have to master that before you can move up to higher limits, and more advanced strategies (e.g., huge bluffs). But don't expect ABC poker to pay at higher limits. Watch high stakes poker on the Game Show Network. Helped me more than any book. |
