For me Humberto Brenes is not entertaining, he is just annoying. Phil Helmuth, Mike Matusow and Shawn Shiekan at the same table is entertaining.
My favorite player to watch is Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and Sam Farha.

Johnny Chan

I enjoy watching Johnny Chan. Whenever he's in the game, you just expect that he's going to win.

In terms of entertainment value, Hevad Khan probably is right up there with Humberto. Anyone seen his response to winning a hand in the 2007 WSOP ME? Insane.

Entertainment, would have to be Mike Matasow.

If I want to watch real poker, I watch Chris Ferguson.

Gus Hansen is my favorite player to watch. He has moments of brilliance and moments of donkeyness.

Phil Ivey is the most skilled player but he's smart enough to stay off of TV... thus adding to his skill.

Online, Barry Greenstein is the most entertaining, though... his chats are priceless.

Yesterday, in the heads up WCOOP event, one of the players he knocked out asked him what he would have done if he would have lost to him... Greenstein's response, "I would have killed myself."

As in most sports, I would rather play it than watch it.

However, Chris Ferguson is my pick with Honorable mention for Clonie (nice rack) Gowen.

i like watching Daniel, he has the skill and seems to enjoy himself at every table. I do like to watch Phil Helmuth explode occasionally. And I can't stand to watch Scotty Nguyen.

Entertainment value:
Scotty Nguyen baby!
I also like Men the Master and Phil Laak.

Poker skills:
I have more and more appreciation for Eric Seidel's play the more I see of him, but he's not "entertaining" per se.

No comment on everyone's favorite calling station...

Personally I prefer Daniel Negraneu, Gus Hansen, and Annie Duke. Gus because he actually has the class I mentioned earlier, that and he's just really effin good. Daniel and Annie because I like watching them get inside people's heads, like the way they call out what their opponent is holding before they make their play. On one of the televised events I saw Annie just completely shrink this guy and not only did she know what he had, she made him believe she had something he could beat. And then the hand was over, you could see in his face he was just like "How did she do that?!" and the announcer was like "Well, she does have a degree in psychology."

Love that stuff

I'm just saying he's makes for good television.

If you're after actualy good poker players in terms of skill, I'm a bit of a fan of Prahlad Friedman's online stuff. Dunno what he's up to these days though, but he used to kill the online tables.

When I started out playing poker it was Ferguson, but I don't see him enough. Now I would say #1 Gus Hansen, at every table I see him in on tv it seems he's the guy everyone is worried about. # 2 Phil Laak, he has a great way of talking about poker while playing. And #3 Daniel Negreanu, can't really say why, he just makes me want to see how he's going to play his hand. Still like Ferguson just never see him play.

I played at the same table as Gus Hanson at the Borgata open 500.00 buy in and had a chance to chat with him on breaks. I would say Gus and Negrano are my favorites. Both strong players!!!

It looks like what he was trying to do got to you, too. Its pretty obvious Hevad was trying to annoy/get into the heads of the other people at the table. Every pot he won was a big celebration and you can see the irritated looks in the opponents faces. I wouldnt be surprised if some players made some bad calls or moves trying to bust him (so he would shut up) and they just kept feeding him chips.

Its similar to how Tony G plays, except Tony G likes to trash talk and Hevad Khan likes annoy players through celebration and dance. All mind games and psych jobs. If its annoying you, then he doing something right.
