Who else hates Ultimatebet's Bet Pot Button??

I got back into playing on Ultimatebet again lately and forgot how much I dislike that little button... I find that opponents like to hit it ALOT, more so then when they would normally bet the pot. This makes reading their bets and play SO much harder. And i myself feel the unconscious urge to click it to save myself the .2 seconds it would take to bet what i really want.

am i just crazy and ranting?

I agree with you. This is one of the reasons I play at Stars.
I think it was poker.com that had loads of buttons. Things like allin, bet pot, bet min, bet 2x, bet 3x, bet4x, bet half pot. It was sooo stupid.

At pokerstars you will see the donks min betting and min raising a lot, which is obviously a good thing. But at sites like ultimate bet and fulltilt, I think people who would often min bet or min raise, will raise or bet pot just because that button is there.

Solution: Move to pokerstars.

I understand your point. However, if you are playing against fools who happily bet more than their hand is worth, isn`t that likely to be to your advantage in the long run ?

This. ^^ I really don't see what the problem is? As long as you pay attention to your opponents, you'll see who is doing that, and with what hands. Be patient, pay attention, find a pattern, then strike.

For those of us who multi-table at U.B., that button is the best thing since sliced bread.

People use it a lot at Full Tilt as well, and it's never bothered me.

It's like JQ says - if they're using it often, you'll be able to find a way to exploit it. Sizing all their bets properly would mean they were playing better poker, and if my opponents don't want to play better poker, I'm sure as hell not going to cry about it

I use it often at full tilt because the slide bar is so messed up. it's hard to get it to a proper amount.

Never bothered me at all,,at Ultimatebet or FTP. There's times when a pot sized bet is THE play, and they make it eay.

I hate the pot bet button too. While it's true that there are often (usually) better bet sizes, and you can often pick up patterns if they don't always use it, having this button allows your opponent to play closer to optimally than min betting, or otherwise having to use their brains.

^ Precisely.

The people who use the bet pot button are often those who are just looking for a shortcut to actually entering an amount or using the bet slider. In the absence of a bet pot button, they would often be using the only other 'one click' betting alternative - the minbet button. Minbets are far more exploitable than pot bets, obviously

I agree

There are a lot of morons out there just cause they are a freeroll they play like a retard. Like the only way for us Washington State players to play with real money is to earn it in freerolls. Can't make deposits but can win freerolls and play with it doesn't make since. Will be leaving this state this summer and will be able to play more.. Olds61

Poker Stars

Use to play there a lot but since I was a real money player they won't let you play in the play money games have tried to play in freeroll and can't get in. Have tried to get them to let us Washington players to play at play money and freeroll games like some of the other sites but they won't do it, so we are limited to the sites we can play. Olds61

Hey Olds I'm curious about that. Are you unable to get into any poker sites to deposit? Because you simply choose to live in a state with highest serial killer ratio per capita. I think I've played at sites with folks from Washington.

Probably

They have so many restrictions and taxes here can't wait to get out of here. We have all kinds of gambling joints and card rooms but if Wa can't get some kinda tax for it they put a damper on anyone having fun. We can't even buy hard liquor without going to state run liquor store and it is twice as much as Calif., AZ or Nevada. As soon as this house sells we will be in Phoenix or Bull Head city. You can be my pool boy. olds61

Are you aware playing at Ultimatebet most of your opponents are more than likely bots?
Only site that doesn't ban them.

I would have to agree with you there. When its a rainbow flop, far from being connected and I see a pot bet, it seems to me the player is just getting lazy. Another thing that I think could use improvement, is the slider, When you move it to pot bet and want to add alittle - to take away the pot odds of drawing to say a flush, the slider adds a whole whack of chips when you move the slider just a little.

Do you think it has anything to do with the button layout? I play at Bodog and don't seem to see as many pot bets, even though they have a small pot button. I've never used it.

as long as everyone has the same everything available to them at the table what does it matter?

i love it when someone overbets their hand, because it usually ends with me stacking up more chips.

if you feel like you are being pushed around by the overbettors, perhaps you are getting involved in too many hands?
