Money... Tournaments or Cash Games?
it's really hard to tell... if it comes to CASH RING GAMES, there really is no way to track that... but I have seen some amazing players win over $250,000 in a single pot... so it could have millions in their bankroll.
a sure way to find out how they are doing in the Tournaments... is to check out this site: Official Poker Rankings - Poker Ratings, Poker Results and Statistics Here you can keep track of their Return on Investment, as well as their wins and losses.... So Far the most Profitable player on the Following Sites are: FULL TILT knickadam55 Net Profit of $484,806 ROI = 20% POKERSTARS AJKHoosier1 Net Profit of $1,431,751 ROI = 168% PARTY POKER TherookieQQ9 Net Profit of $264,630 ROI = 463% So it looks like the guy from Pokerstars has made the most money in TOURNAMENTS... but we don't know how well he does in CASH RING GAMES. |

You could have a -400% ROI playing 10$ SnGs and hit one big win you satted into and next thing you know you are on top of the rankings. |

Not sure.
Dont know who has won the most, but i do know that the largest hand was a couple months ago over 600,000 on one hand the winner was pair of dueces. the second largest hand came minutes later at the same table. their names escape me.

First, the agree part. I don't like the way they do the rankings. Buy-in amount is weighted very heavily, and due to this you do get people with negative ROI's ranked fairly high. Secondly, one big win does not skyrocket you. I know. I won almost $500 once and my ranking went exactly nowhere even though at the time my ROI was absurd. It wasn't until I went rather deep in another mtt that the ranking moved up. Couple other things, OPR does track satellites. I won a few times for the hundred grand mtt satty and it shows up as a $11? win even though I really only won 11 T$. If you win a $5.50 satty and get into a $550 mtt and then bust out, it will still show you are being down $5.50 overall. Lastly, I firmly believe that non of the tracking software (online or otherwise) works 100% of the time. I went and added up all the sharkscope and OPR and Pokertracker wins and losses, and it's WAY off from what I actually have. |

I believe it is David Benjamine (France). He plays almost everynight at Fulltilt in the big PLO games. Durrrr (tom dwan) also does very well. The website highstakesdb.com has monthly and annual standings plus hand replays of all the big hands

Jeroen's post pretty much puts an end to the discussion - for those that couldn't decipher it, the top 10 in winnings this year are:
Phil Ivey: $6.923.025,89 trex313: $3.419.512,82 OMGClayAiken: $3.275.853,74 durrrr: $3.226.148,34 Urindanger: $3.069.864,03 David Benyamine: $2.939.865,49 howisitfeellike: $2.742.905,60 CHUFTY: $2.368.891,85 Gus Hansen: $1.874.440,32 Ziigmund: $1.867.493,41 Note that Patrick Antonius isn't among them - there's a possible explanation for that though, he's only been playing under his own name at Full Tilt since the middle of the year. Largest hand wasn't deuces for $600K, BTW - Urindanger won a $723,938 pot when his aces beat Durrr's kings in late October. |

Actually, something else to think about - below are the ten biggest winners tracked by HighStakesDB since they started keeping records at the beginning of 2007:
Phil Ivey: $8.919.759,30 Urindanger: $4.368.508,94 David Benyamine: $4.089.187,79 OMGClayAiken: $3.889.096,08 durrrr: $3.538.326,23 KaiBuxxe: $3.186.717,60 howisitfeellike: $2.771.917,85 trex313: $2.619.416,47 pr1nnyraid: $2.608.053,88 FinddaGrind $2.341.627,11 The top seven on this year's list appear above. Interesting to note that Gus Hansen doesn't appear twice though - he may be up this year, but it demonstrates what the swings in his game can be like. Antonius (FinddaGrind) makes it in at #10 under his old username, suggesting you can probably expect his new name to eventually wind up on the biggest winners list. Also interesting is that Niki Jedlicka (KaiBuxxe) is #6 on this list, but his new name is #5 on the biggest losers since January 2007 list as well at -$2.186.883,24. HighStakesDB doesn't track PokerStars games (or Party / Ultimate Bet / etc) so this is basically a list of who's won bit on Full Tilt - I don't think any of the other sites really offer nosebleed action anyway though? |

Well I think that last post just about sums it all up. This doesn't pertain to big money, but I do know that Chris Ferguson made 10,000 dollars for charity on Full Tilt by starting with nothing in the play money section and winning tournaments where the prize was entry into a real money tournaments.

Really depends what game you're talking about...
NL Cash: Probably Durrrr, with many others like Antonius, Phil Galfond and the Dang brothers right behind. MTTs: So many... AJKHoosier, sctrojans, belowabove and Moorman are amazing, but there are too many to mention. SNGs: livb112 seems to do well for himself at HU sngs, don't know many sng experts though... The best all around player is really tough to determine, they're all really specialize at one sort of game, but I think it's safe to say it's easier to translate your success from cash games to tourneys than the other way around. This guy called rivermanl on pokerstars seems to crush everything there is to play though, so watch out for him. When you take into account those other fuzzy stud games and stuff it's even harder to just pick one player. |
