Whats your longest slump

Im in one heck of a slump. I think I've went through 14 hands without a face card. I've got a couple of hands of small pocket pairs. The flop never hits me. Im about ready to cash in and take up knitting lol. How long is your longest slump?

Is this a serious post? 14 hands!?!?

If you can't outwait a 14 hand 'slump' then you've got plenty to learn, my friend. Try month-long spells of getting your money in best and getting crushed every time. Just ask any of our members and they'll let you know what a real slump is. My most recent was for a little less than a month.

You're going to have to have a lot more patience to do well with poker...

Well, Chuck I guess I wasn't clear. the 14 hands was without a face card. I haven't had a winning hand in about 6 days now. Don't know about you but my bank account can't handle that. So maybe I should start a new hobbie.

Take a break for a couple days/weeks...you're probably pressing...or if you can't....try a different site. Set a limit each month to deposit and stick to it. I nor anyone here would prefer not to read posts containing such comments as "Poker ruined my life...etc".

You were perfectly clear before; this type of things happens to everyone in poker. You have to learn to accept the beats and the bad runs, no matter how hard it is. Getting down because you're losing is a bad attitude - it's hard to learn to do, but you have to accept that it happens to everyone, and you've just got to wait it out. Listen to wsorbust and take a break for a week or so. Don't even think about poker during that time, then come back and see how you're doing.

p.s. What stakes are you playing at and how big is your bankroll? If you can't take a 14-hand

Well I was accually kidding when I said I should take up knitting instead. I thought the lol after it would verify that. Sorry if I did something wrong on the site. I surely didn't mean to.

I don't understand why you thought you did something wrong?

All I'm saying in my posts is that you'll come across much bigger slumps in your time with poker. A 14-hand no-face-card run will become second nature to you, and you won't be calling it a slump. Neither will you get down about it because you'll have endured much longer week- and month-long slumps where people suck out on you left and right.

You have nothing to worry about with your current slump except for how you take it. If you keep on playing and get more and more frustrated as you go, it'll eat into your bankroll and you'll eventually have nothing left. Like I said, take a break and you'll lose that frustration and come back playing like nothing ever happened.

I ask because if you're playing stakes too high in relation to your bankroll size, even the littlest of runs can have a terrible impact on you via tilt.

You talk to me like im a kid that just started playing lol. I did just start online poker a few months ago. I've been playing real for around 40 years. Im not playing bigger stakes than I can afford. I just wondered how long everyones longest slump was. Just making conversation mostly. I would never quit playing poker. That would be like ripping off an arm lol. Im sure I'll just keep plugging.

Sorry, not meaning to talk to you in any way like that :P

I just assumed you were a newbie player because of that few hands being your longest streak without playable cards. I've had runs of 50+ unplayable hands in games and had to make moves with marginal hands in order to stay alive.

You really have never in 40 years of playin had a bad streak of 6 days? I envy your luck!
