I personally don't like them... they can be mis-leading. They do not take into consideration position, your opponents patterns and styles, or the stages of a tournament. Hands that are "All In" hands on a calculator could be easy folds... such as AJ in an early position. I say avoid them.

The PPA calculator isn't bad for postflop use. It adjusts your chances of winning based on folds before you, board, etc. Like anything else, though, it's just a guide. If you hold KK and the flop comes A, 4,7 it'll show you as a potential winner. But experience tells you the postflop bet and raise before you means someone hit that ace and you need to fold. Betting patterns and player tendencies are definitely more important than what the calculator is telling you but sometimes a good read on your opponents coupled with calculator info can help you make a really solid decision.

re: Whats your guys thoughts on Poker Odds Calculaters I haven't used a poker calculator in a long time, because they don't teach you how to learn to do the calculations by yourself, which is what you have to do while you are playing live(therefore screws you if when you are playing live). But they can help you out a lot, but they should be used as an assistant, not a guideline. If you are going to use one, then you should look at the information that it shows you and then do a one-over on the table and put your two-cents into the mix. You will go broke fast if you play every play exactly how a poker calc tells you to. -Absolut Hamm
