Not a lot - too lazy to try and calculate. I don't keep records (barring Pokertracker records) because it's not an earth shattering source of income to me.

I don't. If I'm winning big in a session it's obviously in most cases +EV to continue if I feel I am better than the other players. Setting profit quit amounts is pretty silly imo - I usually just say to myself "Okay I'm free to play for x hours and then I have to do y", and I usually only quit before then if something comes up, I'm tilting, or I'm just plain bored (happens a lot when single-tabling). Quitting while you're ahead often only serves as a barrier to winning more.

Why on earth stop playing when you're beating the game? Makes no sense IMO. And to address the OP, I don't discuss finances with strangers over the net, especially about income I don't report, lmao, suffice it to say I have a steak dinner every now and again with the wife courtesy of the fishies.

What if any profit I make playing is reinvested in Neteller so I can play more. Poker for me is not a source of income, it's a source of enjoyment. Overall, I'm probably a little ahead but that changes daily...

If you're winning you're doing far better than average.

Search the forum for a recent post by Twizzybop titled something like, "how to prevent tilt," or something like that.

I don`t like playing at tables . I make my profit every month by playing at tournaments with buy-in or heads`up.It`s more simple IMO.
I think if you play at tables you may lose all the money in one hand but at the tourney you loose only a few $

Cheers guys,

I totally disagree. Cash games are pretty much essential to most online poker players? You can't loose all your money if you play limit!! The chances of hitting a big win in a MTT are very low, cash games provide a nice steady source of income.

i make about 300 a month playing sit and goes ten hours a week.
most ppl dont play competitive sit and go why? the profit is good if you need it to be, plus no monotony of learning limit game. another question is why does every one play limit? the game seems veryconstricting to me, small risk small reward. even more so at the low levels such as 1/2 2/4. at two dollars an hour you really cant give yourself a way to get to the next lvl without saving everything.

Poo_Poo is wanting to know if he is making a decent amount per hour? How is he stacking up vs everyone?

complicated questions

It depends on player type (law of big numbers applied). Even fish can hit a roll of great cards and show a short term profit of a large amount of $$$. There is an article somewhere on player types (as applied to Poker Tracker). I have found that the article holds some truth in general (has my BB's per hour pegged) big bets per hour. The type of player you are will generally determine your per hour profit over time.

He wants to know if maybe plaing 2/4 will double his per hour profit? hmmmm

Advice time: PLAY AT A LEVEL THAT YOU ARE COMPLETELY COMFORTABLE AT!!!!!

If you are not completely comfortable playing 2/4 then don't. I am completely comfortable playing 1/2 for a profit. Funny, I will not play 1/2 live. My modification is to play multiple tables of 1/2 instead of 2/4. I will move up to 2/4 one day...when I am completely comfortable. Then it will be single table....later multiple table. (baby steps) Many excellent low limit players are unable to play high limit poker...its true they just cant handle it. I would love to play 15/30...but its not going to happen..anytime soon.

This crap about not setting limits is a farce ...IMHO

Set a time to play and stick to it.
Set a +/- for the table. If I make X I will leave this table...also if I lose X I will leave this table.

Online differs from live in that there is always a game 24/7 low or no waiting....Live there may only be that one table.

Someone said, "id be crazy to leave if I was beating the game"......Kenny Rogers sang "know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away (with profit), and know when to run.

I say "Why eat fish...when if you are patient you can have caviar" Bleed someone completely dry and they will remember and may run from you or worse tighten up and play better. Take some $$$ from them every day, but not all and they may think you are a 'lucky' guy/gal. You want the fish/sucker to come back for more? or dont you. God knows I want him at my table everyday tossing those extra bets into my pots.

MR X...not going on tilt

Advise: PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE....

Take a bad beat...wait for the bb to come around and sit out 10 hands (lots of players do this)

Take a bad beat...change tables (some do this also) why I dont know

State of mind is so very important..did you perpare yourself mentally prior to sitting down to play? I forget to do this myself sometimes...and it cost me.

Write out a hand list of what you will play and from what position you will play it...then stick to it. (ouch thats hard because I forgot to put this 39sooted on my list)

Having a bad run of cards or missing flopps...HEY CHANGE TABLES....what too lazy to use the mouse?

Poker really is about everything but the cards.....
