What is your best poker advice?

Just interested to hear what everyones best poker advice is. It can be just a general statement, or a certain rule you follow, or advice someone once gave you.

My best poker advice is to play to have fun or u will get frustrated

Also...dont play for the money just play because it is fun

Dont play if you drank a lot

play at stakes u can afford...

Very Best advice:
Don't get stuck thinking you're right about things. Always be willing to examine the possibility that there are flaws in your understanding and knowledge base and be open enough to deal with them. Thats' the hardest thing. If you THINK you know what you're doing but you're wrong from the get go - how do you figure that out? Kill your ego.

Recognize poker as the extremely complex game it is. Build your knowledge, know yourself, understand psychology (your own and others), be patient, be aggressive, manage bankroll, understand odds etc etc etc.

I don`t know much about poker, but I can offer you some advice for living. Three principles of being a man, taught to me a long time ago by a good man:-

1. If you have made a commitment to doing something, see it through whatever the cost.

2. Forgive your enemy the day you dance on his grave.

3. Saving only the above exception, don`t waste your energies on dancing.

My golden rule.

Do not play with what you cannot afford to lose, and that doesnt just include money, it includes time, friends and family....

Be nice to your dealer.

Specifically, refrain from singing "You gotta know when to hold 'em..." in their presence. They've heard it a hundred times before, and it really isn't funny. Or ironic. Or anything else. Just don't.

1. fold , fold, fold. Most players see way to many flops.

2. Take care of your chips. Especially if you get chipped up in a tourney.

"Dont go broke on an unraised pot."

Sounds like noob advice but remember this, it can pop up a decent amount in lower limits.

Here's some advice from my past mistakes:

1. Don't call a raise on the river when you know you're beat, but you want to keep them honest and make sure they're not bluffing you.

2. When someone calls you down and reraises your top pair, they probably have a set.

3. Don't try to get back the money you lost to try and break even. Once you lose it, it ain't yours no mo'.

2. Know thyself. Thou shalt recover from tilts swiftly.
3. Thou shalt not play above thy bankroll.
4. Controlled, intelligent aggression wins poker.
5. Thou shalt Fold.
6. Verily, Calling is even weaker than folding.
7. Thou shall not chase wrongly.
8. Do not set thy hand to win every pot.
9. Little hand... little pot. Big hand... BIG pot.
10. Thou shalt Fold.

and last but not least, have confidence in your game, and admit your flaws and work on them
