I just got done playing in a HU match were the person disconnected when they had about 1290 chips left......and they stayed disconnected untill it was over which i won because i kept raising to steal blinds automatically....my question is would you try and wait and not be greedy...or its there problem get a better connection....?

id wait about 5 to 10 minutes and if they do not return i would take there chips

Unless my opponent was a friend or an individual with whom I frequently played I'd steal. If it was someone I knew, I'd wait a few minutes and then steal. Although it isn't the ideal way to win I'd still take it.

yeah i agree i def. wouldnt do it to someone i knew......and it does seem kind of bad if you dont know them but i guess thats just something that happens with connections.....

If the shoe was on the other foot, would you expect them to do no less?

I'd take their blinds without giving it a second thought, and I'd expect no different if if was me that got disconnected.

come on people, the people not voting for the steal steal steal are you serious? that is very hard to believe. 20% so far voting against the steal yet when i have been disconnected its 100% steal from me. where were you when i was was disconnected? lol

funny i couldve stolen a play in a live tourney, but my consience wouldn't allow me, online its every player for themselves

It is your opponents fault that they took the risk of playing a game with a faulty internet connection. Steal! Steal! Steal! Win! Win! Win!

I had this happen once. I quickly took all his chips before he had time to reboot or whatever. He jumped in the next sit n go with me and griped about it. I told him i tried to wait. So he wasnt so mad. lol yay free money

It wasn't a disconnection but a player got way up in chips and decided to sit out - 6000 to the next which was me at 2000. Well after I knocked out the rest of them, 5 more, they still hadn't come back.
Well, what am I going to do? I don't know when or if they are coming back so I kept calling and ended up with 1st, they still got 2nd place money.
I tried to get the 3rd place guy to play nice and divide up the sitouts chips but he wouldn't so I had to turf him.

That is called collusion, some sites really dont like that and may take some action against it so be careful in the future
