What would you consider your best fold? I was playing at my regular Monday night tournament and we were playing 5, maybe 6 handed. I had upped my aggression and raise at the cut off with A9. I had one person call, who happens to be a pretty tight player, which I consider myself pretty tight, as well, but occasionally mix it up. The flop came A-x-A (I honestly, don't remember the other card but it was under 8) I bet about half the pot and she went all-in. I really don't know how but I knew she had the case ace and had me out kicked. I folded and showed my ace and she asked what my kicker was and I showed her the 9 and she flips over AQ. I think that's one of my best LIVE reads to this day. What about you guys?

Pocket Kings preflop without hesitation. I had great reads on a couple players at a table. This player sitting to my right about 5 seats down was the tightest player I have ever played with. I have yet to see what he plays in early position, but in middle position, he only plays AA and KK. In late position, he only plays AA, KK, QQ, AKs. Yeah, I know, tightest player of all time. I'm not sure if his strategy was effective. Against any good player that pays attention, they'll know to fold if he's in the hand. So the EV drops way down. Of course this was the microstakes, so I bet he's making money slowly. Now on the right of me was about 2 seats is this super aggressive calling station. You know, the ones that just pisses everyone off. He's been raiseing all day preflop and catching miracle turns and rivers with hands that I wouldn't even touch. I'm talking raising with 39 offsuit on a rainbow picture flop. So I was dealt Kings. My heart started pumping and I knew I was going to get paid off from Mr. Aggressive. Then all the sudden, Super Ultra Mega Tight player limps in UTG. Of course you get a caller, then Mr. Aggressive makes a 5x raise. The action was on me. I had the feeling, "Why Now?". I folded. Super Ultra Mega Tight goes all in and Mr. Aggressive calls. AA vs 10Js [Who could blame him? It was soooooooooted!] At this time a smile crept on my face. I see those pros on tv make sick laydowns, and I finally get to feel what they felt. Of course the board read: 9A7 3 8 I remembered till this day and I still feel Super Ultra Mega Tight's pain.

i make a lot of good folds all the time... do i get bluffed often?...probably, But the way i see it is, when there are 100 -50,000 people in the tourny... sometimes i ask myself if this one hand is going to decide if i will make the final table? also if i can make the final table without playing this hand?..... and i look for better spots to get my chips in... set vs top pair or hiden straight or bluff agains someone that doesnt like there hand (and has history of folding to reraises) in general the best fold i made was 99 vs ak flop was 9AA he bets i call turn card is a K...he checks...i min bet and he pushes all in.... i fold and show...he then shows the AK.....it was kind of an easy fold...because i played it wrong (when i play hands wrong ill fold em in a second) but i shouldve reraised the flop to see if he was holding an A...if so he will probably push back and me and get the chips in while im ahead

re: What would you consider your best fold? poker I remember folding a set of nines on a 982K board against a pretty nitty player, I knew the guy had an over pair, and the way he was so aggressively pushing it was most likely either aces or kings. When that K fell on the turn the guy checkraised me for tournament life and I thought for a while and ended up laying it down and he showed his set and didn't believe me that I layed down the nines. It was pretty sick but I love it when you just break down the hand and it just clicks in your head and you just nail your opponents range perfectly.

I layed down AA! yes I said it. I was one of three big stacks at the table deep in a MTT. I was taking turns being the table captain with one of the other big stacks. I pulled rockets preflop but out of pos. natually , I raise, villian reraises, I 4 bet, he calls. Flop comes KQQ. I lead, he raises, I call. I don't remember the turn but I was just going to check call. Of course he ruins that play by shoving his entire stack at me. I had him read as a solid player who was not going to shove with nothing. That and his preflop reraise and call, I had to put him on at least 1 queen, ( I put him on QQ or KK) either way, if I call and lose, I'm down more than 80% of my stack. I was top 3 in stack sizes so, BUMMER, bye bye aces. ( still took 3rd, villian didn't make FT)

re: What would you consider your best fold? poker Two come to mind, one live, one online. Live, I had QQ in middle position with an above average stack size and UTG+1 raises it to 3xBB - I re-raise him 9xBB and he shoves. He was a tight player and I didn't think he would be 4 betting light - I ask him to show, he says sure and I fold the Queens face up and he shows the rockets. This was with 30 players left in an 80 player field and I went on to finish fourth. My very next hand I flopped the nut flush and doubled through someone else. Online, I was in the $15k GTD on PokerStars and past the bubble. I look down at A-A, woohoo, UTG+1 raises 3x BB, I am in mid position and re-raise it to 9x BB and get one caller and then the original raiser just calls, I have been playing with this guy the last hour and he is a solid tight player. The flop comes Q-9-3 rainbow, it checks to me, I bet 2/3 pot, one fold and initial raiser just calls. Uh-oh, now I am concerned, just a flat call? Turn is another brick (7), he checks and for some reason I slow down and check it also. River is a 6 and he shoves all in. I think a bit and fold the Aces and he shows Q-Q for trips queens. I went on to finish 6th in that tournament.

I have no idea which won was the best. We only know about the ones that end up at a showdown or when someone shows their cards. I think these quotes by billyth3kid are worth repeating. "I'm sure I make a lot of good folds all the time... do i get bluffed often, probably..... I ask myself if this one hand is going to decide if I will make the final table?....and I look for better spots to get my chips in." By the way, I wonder how many of us would respond to a thread asking us to reveal our worst folds as a result of a bluff.

re: What would you consider your best fold? poker Hard to remember but I had a pot with this one guy, I remember I felt I had the best hand despite there being way better possibilities, took three shots at it on the flop, turn, and river, and the guy moved all in, i folded thinking he either made trips or was slowplaying a pair of aces or something like that. I surrendered the the hand and he turned over pocket 4s which would have lost to my pair of jacks.
