| What one thing do you wish you could change about your game??? Hi all. look at this as something you wish you could stop doing, do more, etc, that would help your game. Things that you control. To start, mine would be calling when I have the odds to chase. A lot of times I will bottle it for fear of losing my stack. What is yours? It can be either emotional or technical. |

| I would like to get better at reading bad players. I can read a mid level or experienced player, but I often get the feeling that a bad player has a strong hand when he really has something like top pair with no kicker. For example, this happens to me when I raise AA or KK in a cash game and a weak player calls me out of position with something like JQ. Then when the flop comes jack high or queen high he check raises the flop. Or worse, check/calls the flop and then check raises the turn or river. I have a lot of trouble putting him on something like a weak top pair when he plays the hand like that, since most weak players play hands exactly that way when they flop a set. And often their body language and verbal cues suggests that they think their hand is very strong. The problem is that if an advanced player decides to take me on with a weak hand and play it like he has a strong hand, he is concious of the fact that his hand is actually not strong. However, a weak player who feels his top pair is a very strong hand will exude confidence. I can't seem to wrap my head around that and I end up folding hands to the guys who overplay their single pair hands. Consequently, they get exactly what they want out of me. That is, of course, until I flop a set and they stack off with a single pair. So until I figure out how to read weak players better, I tend to avoid getting involved with them unless I have a hand that I know I am going to show down against them no matter what. Currently, I have had some success with keeping the pot small against this type of player when I have AA or KK, or AK when I pair up. Still, I really wish I had an easier time of differentiating between a weak players actually strong hand and what he thinks is a strong hand. |

| Id love to change the fact i cant workout percentages i mean no the odds pot wise but lets say i have 8 outs etc whats the % i checked it online but failed to wrap my brain around it as yet, i will no doubt im ok at maths and i guess thats all it is and oh ya another thing whenever i reach a final table i seem too loose the will to play tight or something its like i just dont got the steam to get over the line, id like to change that as well....so yeah two things now you mention it. |

| Mine is to be able to control my play post flop play. Alot of times I do not slow down when I have what I think is the best hand and become to aggressive. I will bet off my stack and realize that other player is just stringing me along. My other problem I think found out last night playing. Is that I will be to quick fold a hand to bigger stack when he bets the min raise or or 1/3 to1/2 pot size bet, when I do not make connection on the flop, but the broad is a blank or in the last situation I held on over pair to the broad. These are two of my problems I have found. |

| Hi everyone, I try to play online as if I was seated at a live table as far as chat goes, the one thing I try to do is act civil, even when someone sucks out on you like really, really bad, the ol 2 percenter I try to stay calm. Once in a while however I lose it, it does not do any good and you look an idiot. So I wish I could be more respectful of all players at all times. |

So, the 8 outs you say you have. double it and add 2 so 8x2=16+2=18 so u have 18% chance based on 8 outs. |

| Would like to improve focusing on any one game. Too many distractions at home between family and pets, who get impatient for my company. 'Tis a good thing I only play penny games, the occasional CardsChat, small price tourneys, and freerolls. |

| I'd have said avoiding extensive runs of bad luck, but that's not something I can control so much I guess. Something I can control........not over betting at bad times, not being so aggressive preflop trying to steal with weak hands too often and (the oppposite) being too passive preflop with KK and AA and letting weak hands in for cheap. |

| re: What one thing do you wish you could change about your game??? poker Never making spewy calls when my gut is SCREAMING WTF ARE YOU DOING YOU RETARD but whatever it is that controls my mouse hand just decides, oh what the hell i'm curious and he is probably bluffing even tho it makes no sense. One thing i have managed to "fix" in the last while was spewy bluffs, so now just need to get rid of the spewy calls (which i have vastly improved over the last little while...still have some of the whole "wow i was about 20 levels too deep on that hand" sort of calls tho, which need to go). It is directly related to tilt i think anyways, because it doesn't happen when i'm completely on my game and during the odd bad tilt session i've had it happens all the time. |

odds x 2 + 2 = % of hitting from turn to river (>5 outs) odds x 2 + 1 = % of hitting from turn to river (<5 outs) All approx. get messed up >10 outs however, so you can just learn common "draws" like 12 or 15 outs etc) Then just learn things like odds of a set filling up (turn outs x 2 + river outs x 2 is a good approx. for situations where your outs change from flop to turn...ie. in set to fill up situation you have 7 outs on the flop to turn and 10 outs (if you miss) from the turn to river to fill up = 34% = very close approx.) and other common situations you encounter. |

| re: What one thing do you wish you could change about your game??? poker There are so many things I'd like to change about my game. But if I had to choose one it would have to be poker math. I'm not so good at it, but one day I will be. |

| Improving my ability to fold. Seems to be my worst enemy. I keep telling myself eberyone is NOT bluffing. LOL Speaking of which I would like to learn to bluff, it seems to be such a HUGE part of the game. Good question to make us think about our weaknesses and hopefully it will help us improve ..... | Myself, like many who are beginners to the poker scene, I look for a better bluff and better skills in betting. Bluffing is a tactic that I find very difficult to accomplish. . .I have heard that you must have confidence in you hand in order to properly portray your strength and attempt to scare or push people out of the pot. For myself, I find I don't bluff. . .not at all. . .if I bet I tend to have a good hand and find this is the only way to maintain confidence in my hands. One of the most difficult tasks I have found in poker is learning how and when to bet. . .continuation betting has become a clear focus of my learning and something I strive daily to get better at. I have scene a little success recently; however, I still find myself getting stuck 3-4 times a round folding after spending a lot to see the flop and turn, sometimes even the river. |

| i sorta wish i could quit chasing but it seems everytime i do fold a straight or flush draw its the next card dealt and i wish i had more time to think on some hands even with the extra time on some of these sites it aint enough but if i had more time to think i might make a bigger mistake who know?? |

| My major fault is refusing to fold when its fairly obvious I am behind. Making stupid all in calls with TPTK when theres a flush or straight showing on the board. The amount of times I hit CALL and know I should be laying it down is unreal. I get myself into good positions with nice stack and then get greedy instead of being patient, I try to take risks which inevitably cost me dearly. What starts off as me limping into pots soon becomes me calling raises with marginal hands. After the flop they raise all in and I call with maybe top pair or two pairs with a straight or flush showing... I wish I could stop myself doing it, and I try to stop myself, but for some reason the mist descends and I end up getting busted by my own poor play. |
