What are the ODDS of this? Talk about good side of variance???

Last week I watched the final table play out on ipoker network (the Sun $200K guar., a $215 buyin, ~1,000 runners in it). There's one guy on the table & it's his very first Tournament played on ipoker (Zero SNG's, Zero HU Sng.. & Zero hands of cash games). He ends up taking 3rd for $16k.

Pretty decent huh. A bit odd.... but not crazy odd.
So this week I open up final table of ipoker's $200Kguar., it's HeadsUP & who do I see?? Same guy!!!! I figure he must've played a handful of tourneys since last week... Nope! This is his 2nd Game played on ipoker... & now he's HeadsUp in it, LOL.
Now that's a tad unusual. So I think, "maybe he's a HSMTT reg. from the US & has just opened up an ipoker account? Curious now I look him up on PTR & he's '0' on there (no.. not zero hands played... 0 as in a rating of ZERO ->> under 500hands played -15.58bb/100, playing .05./.10PLO sh, & a few hundred hands of 100nlHU... down a few hundred).

Oh damn. Poor guy. He just went out in 2nd (99 < TT aipf). $22,000 Not too bad for 2nd tourney.

I'd say this is a fair bit more odd than a guy with 150 games played, avg buyin $1.48, going deep in the $5k WCOOP MainEvent (which was pretty weird too... but not this crazy).

wierd. guess he's new to the site, and plays a lot under a differtednt name at other sites?

The amount of coin flips (or getting it in bad) he must of won will be unreal. He must be mega + EV, surely can't be "that" good to make it to the FT 2 weeks in a row.

The PTR '0' was his same player name but on 'PokerStars'.
Yah for sure, although stacks are pretty deep in this tourney (so he may not have even been allin much at all... or at all) > 10,000chip stacks, 15min. levels (& not levels like SunMill), 15/30, 25/50, etc. (they go up slowly).. no antes til into the 3rd hour.

Ipoker has like 44 different poker sites sharing the same network.
He is probably a reg, who has just changed to a different site.

Is Ipoker one of those sites that you cab change your ID on weekly and would that have any impact on it?

dang and I can rarely if ever take down $2 MTT's and this dude takes down more than I will win in my poker career LOL in his first 2 games. I dont know but folks who play these higher up games claim the donk level is pretty consistant, just a richer donk I guess. But I got much room to talk about donks, just sometimes I think I need to take shots is bigger MTTs
