What music do you listen too (if any)?

Do you listen to music?

If so. what do you listen to, also, does it affect your play.

What I'm getting at is if I play relaxing music I feel relaxed (obvious I know...). If I play fast tempo music I tend to get carried away with the music and play a completely different game!. I Tend to raise and speed my game up more. I didnt notice this until I checked my HH and was horrified at the results! Now I rarely play music at all (just in case).

Am I the only one with these roller coaster emotions ???

As I write this, I'm playing a tourney and listening to the Johnny Cash Sun Sessions-1956 at the moment. And no, the artist or tempo of music seems to have no effect on my game or my luck.

A ot of Mariah Carey usually calms my nerves or if I want to play aggressive some Cascada or Tupac does the trick. Different music for different moods

Would this be a good way to mix up your play/change gears?

Just put a little Rage Against the Machine on the ipod juxtaposed with some Cowboy Junkies and no one would ever be able to figure you out !

i play in silence, or i sometimes have the tv on in the background. If I listen to music it is usually prank calls channel on itunes, as to keep my joy level up as everyone is sucking out on me.

12skin, having TV on is a bad idea... dont know about you but I get distracted easily lol!

Although, listen to Dropkick Murphy --> Green Fields for quite a relaxing song! Other than that, try:

Alkaline Trio
My Chemical Romance
Babyshambles
Holloways
Idlewild
Muse
Ordinary Boys
Taking Back Sunday
Sublime
Lacuna Coil
and the list goes on....

Depends how tired I am. I like, what I call, a good mix, which probably isn't too much of a mix at all. Mainly "white man" music because I'm white and so are the poeple playing it. lol It includes Metallica, Cash, Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen, The Beatles...etc But, if I'm tweeakin' I'll probably spend too much time switchin' between songs before they're finished and blow up sooner than later.

Usually when im playing online, i turn on my Limewire and open up the library on shuffle. I have a lot of country downloaded, so i get to listen to the likes of.....

George Strait
Toby Keith
Kenny Chesney
Carrie Underwood
Brooks and Dunn

The tempo of the song doesnt really change my play.

I dont really listen to music while I play. There is a lot of psychology though involved with music and other activities. Studies have linked speeding tickets to harder, faster tempoed music...

Oh yeah! ACDC will traffic tilt me every time. Its the drivers legal cocaine.

Playing poker, Bach seems to have a positive effect though. Relaxes, focuses and keep me from over-analyzing every little bet or fold.
