What kind of computer/screen set up do you have for your multitabling? Soon I want to get a new laptop with a big screen and hookup 2 monitors on each side for easier multi-tabling.. Right now I'm on a small laptop and its hard enough just to multi-table five windows, one on each corner of the screen (with half of one always being covered at any given time) and one in the middle.. I would think things would be easier if I had bigger and more screens.. But then again I see some people take screen shots of 10+ tables with a even smaller screen than me! Unless they are just lying for whatever reason..

I have a 15" laptop screen. I can usually manage 4 tables (One in each corner) minimised, then two overlapping them in the centre of the screen top and bottom, and one overlapping those in the dead centre. I very very rarely play more than 4 tables anyway, but occassionally have a matrix and a couple of cash games going.

I guess im one person that is just not talented enough to multi table. I never play more than 2 tables at a time. Playing more than that I seem to get in to big of a hurrry to click over and either fold or call the other tournys. Another reason i dont like playin multi tables is you cant concentrate and get a read on all the players at yor table wether they are playing tight, loose, raisng every hand etc. As for the screen set ups you were askin about im not really sure. I just thought you might wanna consider playin a couple tables and see if it helps your game any

-guy limping every hand -guy addicted to calling sb -any ace -any pocket pair -hell...anything you pick up on as the game progresses. he'll beat it into your head for you sometimes even if you have a ton of tables going. if it bothers you, or are nervous about multitabling...take a day or a couple hours out of it and multitable 6-10 at a big site with play money at whatever your game is...that way, with 6+, it's probably going to be hard to fit ALL of them in the screen...GREAT! cascade them or something. i just gave a few general examples...but you'd be surprised what you'll pick up on, i just listed stuff that will stick out like sore thumb. i'm no pro though, but practicing playing a lot of tables really helped me WITH how to get a read on someone....and try to take some quick notes on them while you're at it. if you try it with play money, there's nothing to lose...aside from the really bad/careless ones will stick out even more. if its the feeling you don't have enough time to decide, or if it all feels overwhelming, it will help you a lot with that too...that is, if it's eating away at you that you can't seem to table more than 1 or 2, but you'd like to be able to. you might even find you're keeping yourself out of some trouble hands that way. |

I just have a 15.4 inch monitor old(not wide screen) laptop, but I can manage 6 tables with all my hands visible at once, though the tables overlap big time, if the 4 outer edges are on top, then only the centers of the tables, where my hands are, are visible. I will often play 9 while I'm initially picking out tables I want, and just cull it down as I go, which needs more overlap, but I can still see a lot at once. If I decide to shortstack then I'll often play 10-12 tables utilizing the small margin visible on the right hand side of my screen to have a couple tables. I just really feel the need to see my tables and so can't seem to do stacking or cascading, but I use the times when I short stack with those tables i can't really see on the sides to increase my comfort level with that. And I can do 6 without a HUD, but why bother when I paid for HEM? So that of course helps out a ton with getting reads on players. I have a 20 inch external I can hook up, but I just don't have a good desk type space to do it in an ergonomic fashion, so for now it lies in wait. How do the tables look at higher resolution on the TVs? I know on old school tvs you'd never have been able read anything, but I'm wondering if the HD TV's allow for viewing at higher resolutions, so perhaps a setup with the kind of overlap I tolerate that would allow for 20 tables up on a monitor of roughly 32 inches. The image is just some tables i grabbed not me playing, but it serves for illustrative purposes. Last edited by IveGot0uts : 21st November 2009 at 6:51 AM. Reason: Failed to stick in image
