What has shallow stack done to me ? So I've just finished giving away the rest of my bankroll today, i'm steaming. I've been playing 2NL seriously for about 3 months now. I started off with the 6$ I won in a freeroll on FT, I then thought the best would be to play 2NL 6max shallow stack. It went well for a few weeks, I played a not really recommended 32/19 game and got my bankroll up to almost 25$. I don't think I was running extremely good. Then I started reading some articles on how to play an optimal micro stakes game. They all say that tight is good (a part from a very rare few), so I thought that to win in the long run I should go for a more tight strategy. I also thought round about that time to play 100BB stack 2NL. That's when it all went downhill, I became what you would call a nit (15/10) and havent stop losing ever since. I tried out FR since but that hasn't seemed to help. I blame shallow stack. Any shallow stackers here who struggle with standard stacks or the other way around ? How can I adjust to 100BB deep ? Thanks

re: What has shallow stack done to me ? poker Staying tight in micro-limit games is important because of all the donks and fish. But set mining and limping can help you hit some good hands that are very profitable. The micro-stakes strat is just that, a strat. If you like playing a certain way and that works for you, then continue until you start losing, then re-adjust your strat.

You will win in the long run playing full ring or 6 max tight but have to play it right .... .What is tight ????What is right ??? what hands should i fold and hold preflop ???? you have to do alot of research to find the correct answers to tight..and right. Good luck ,dont give up . But review all your hand histories to see where you went wrong or just got unlucky ...

re: What has shallow stack done to me ? poker Tight may not be optimal at the micros in terms of winning the most money possible, but it is a winning style. The trade-off, which may be worth it or not depending on individual preference, is lower variance than playing a lot of hands. As a simplification, if you sit there playing tight, people will find ways to give you money through their poor and mediocre plays. To be a winner, all you have to do is not give all of it back. There are downsides to this too though. One is that it's dull.
