| Phil Ivey is a great player Forsakenone No disrespect Forsakenone, but if you think Phil Ivey is sorry and only depend on luck than you haven't been watching Ivey play poker. Or you believe the game is more luck then skills. Funny how you could even say such a thing. The majority of the poker pro believed Ivey to be the best all aorund player as of right. Study him and you will see that he plays in a different level, it like he has a six sense. |

It's called wikipedia, use it. I like the guy, but I don't need to draw supernatural conclusions. He's an excellent card player, and he's been playing a long time making a lot of money. He's my second favorite, my first being myself, because if you're not your own favorite at (almost) everything, you have self esteem issues. Or your worthless. |

I think Forsakenone was joking. You copied his statement, but neglected to add the important 'smiley face' which should imply a joke on his part. Please tell me I'm correct here Forsakenone! |

Durr has +$900,000 profit over Ivey all time but... Durr has played 307,650 hands Ivey has only played 42,318 Look at that sick ratio... do the math. Not to mention Ivey's Winrate using his telekinetic and mind reading powers Vs. Dwan, who I am waiting for him to drool on live TV some time... there's gotta be a lot of saliva filling that long jawed open mouth all the time Ivey>Dwan |

| "The majority of the poker pro believed Ivey to be the best all aorund player as of right. Study him and you will see that he plays in a different level, it like he has a six sense." It is like a sixth sense in that the amount of information he's processing is way beyond what you can process consciously--body language, eye patterns, language patterns, patterns and style of play, not to mention your basic odds calculations, etc., etc., etc... Most of that information is processed at the unconscious level. Can the technique be learned??? Absolutely, but it's not easy and it's not for everyone. If you think you're ready, ask me how. |

| I think Phil Ivey is better than Durrr.. I saw durrr played.. He's just getting lucky most of the time.. actually I saw him lost to a random player high stakes.. he lost 10k I think that time..but I think he's just getting unlucky.. but Ivey's better lol |

Also, Ivey and Dwan are both sick NLHE live cash game players... this proves it. YouTube- Tom "Durrrr" Dwan bluffs Phil Ivey in a monster pot All reads the whole way. |

| re: What does Phil Ivey do??? poker ^^^ $10K would be a very small BI for Dwan. And while that episode was fun to watch, it's not really a good example of Ivey being outplayed by Durr. Ivey had some huge implied odds with the draws he had against a player like Durr, so it made sense for him to call to the river. When he missed his draws, I think it also made pretty good sense for him fold 4th pair to such a large bet considering the consistent action from Durr. If he had folded TPTK or 2p then it would have been more impressive. Remember Durr actually does hit his hands a lot of the time, so to assume he's always bluffing would be a mistake. There's a ton of hands that beat 4th pair there, most of them very much in anybody's range, let alone Durr's. I think they're both extremely talented players, but Ivey by far is the most well-rounded and experienced player of the two. In a very specific game on Durr's terms, Durr *might* have an edge, but overall Ivey is no doubt the better player. |
