| What do you think of this preflop call I am an agressive player (and consistantly profitable at my once a week cashgame with experienced but very average players) and had raised the pot preflop probably 3 of the last 8 hand. I bet $12 and had a short stack push allin for $29 more. I decided to make the call with Q7 suited. there was about $28 in the pot minus the casino rake what do you think of the call? |

are we on a button or something and then why are we raising a short stack with Q7? im confused. I haven't run the numbers but I doubt this is a profitable play against shortstacks behind us, im guessing here we are on button or small blind vs big blind because if you did this in any other position I dont want to hear about it. |

| It was a 6 player table with a lot of tight post flop players who had decent amounts of chips i was picking up a lot of decent pots raising preflop with marginal hands and betting the flop even if i missed. I switched gears a decent amount of times and played like this for maybe 20 minutes. |

ok so you saying he would have any pair or broadway? ok your hand equity is 52% in the hand so lets look at pot odds now its Quote:
if he pushed $29 total then its different but you said $29 more so im assuming he had $44 in stack to start hand. if your wording is right you had to call $29 into $59 and had to call seeing as you have 53% equity and 2/1 to call. |

| Well, just the the fact that you pushed $30 / all-in with Q-7 is........a little bit strange. If he was playing so loose, you could've waited for a better hand and got him there.....don't let people playing loose make you mad and screw up like this |

| re: What do you think of this preflop call poker I don't like being pushed around and i make this call about 80 percent of the time. I consider live NL cashgames to be a very instinctual game and table image and presence to be very important. While i don;t want to be pushed around or show weakness i also do not want to look like a fool by making a terrible call. |

you can only make this call if you are the only one to act after push, I wouldnt say 80% of the time though. You have to be getting the right equity vs his range and the right pot odds to make this call. being pushed around? wtf cares if they think this. This is the problem with some players (no offense) they take it personal which is real bad. That is playing emotional which is losing poker in the long run. |

| I've noticed this wrecklessness has cost me some money quite a few times in recent weeks i just wanted to float out what i was doing and my idea behind it and get some thoughts. This is not a problem with my game as a whole but preflop behavior that i have noticed isn't working. Thanks for being constructive |

| I've just read this and storm gives some excellent advice. The problem as i see it is the perception that villan is loose. I disagree, villan has seen you play very loose even maniacle and has decided to take a stand against you whenever he has a decent hand against your wide range. So what could villan have possible shoved with, knowing that you will likely call, that your hand is leading? Basically nothing. There is very little if any you are even in a coin flip against. Seriously what hands could you add to villans range that is worse than Q-7? Being aggressive is ok but when players pick up on it and play back it's time to switch. This is when you can tighten up and get payed off with your big hands since you won't get credit for them. As far as table image, what image did you just give the table? They saw you raise with Q-7 and call and all-in reraise with it. Your image is now one of a loose donk, no offense. |

everything snake said is correct and let me just add, you better tighten the heck up or you will be going broke right now after showing this down. |
