what do you do?

...when the cards just wont come? it seems lately winning for me has become impossible. i started to play regular tables and ditched the sitngos. i started off ok making 48 dollars in an hour or so, cards were gernerous, i threw in a bunch of succesfull bluffs. but suddenly it stopped. i no longer am catching ANYTHING, and when i do, its not good enough. when i try to bluff, i get called, only to be called by a moron who had no business calling to begin with, but yet his pair of 2's is still good enough, so i guess it was the right play....

now what do you do? just sit back and let the blinds keep eating away at your stack? or do you begin going in with marginal hands? is it practical to always wait for AQ Ak or a top pocket pair? i really arent that bad a player, just something about my luck it would seem that is extraordinay. how do you seriously win? this is a serious question, i play correctly, but i have terrible luck, but i dont want to believe my luck is worse than the average joe. my friend who started online poker a week ago or so has mnaged to win 500 dollars already, and he just recently learned the game. they say poker is about skill and luck, well for me it would seem it is only about luck.

Happens to me all the time. Last night/yesterday I was up $45 dollars and now I am back to even after losing that much today. I cannot hit anything if my life depended on it. when I get good cards, nothing hits on flop or someone is holding trips of some crummy card. I lost three tournies today and gave up. Just playing some ring tables trying to get outta the slump. I should stop playing but i am hooked.

You rely on your cards too much, take some time to read your table. Are your players loose? tighten up, Are your players tight?, then loosen up, Have you become predictable?, time to chage gears.
Learn your opponents betting habits because this is about the only read you have on an opponent online, I have said it before and I'll say it again, ppl are creatures of habit and they will almost always give a certain value of bet to certain cards.
I remember one player I was up against once, and I remember this because this is when I started paying close attention to my table and betting patterns, and sure enough, he would value his AA,KK with a 5xBB, AK,QQ with a 4xBB JJ,1010 with a 3xBB and all others with a 2xBB.
Sure the cards will start to run cold, but that will always happen and when it does, time to move tables or get reads off players and bluff the tight players, you may not win all the bluffs, but youll win some.

It's skill to wait for the luck. Even pros have months where they lose. It's all part of the game. That's why they call it gambling.
