What to do....

Alright I got a check today for about $500ish bucks that was unexpected, so I'm not putting it in my bank account. I told my wife that I would give her half so that gives me about $250 bucks to play with. I'm probably only going to put half towards poker so that gives me $125 to start a new fresh bankroll.
Now the question is.....what should I do. I don't know if I want to go to the casino and play live (which I seem to do better) or give online poker another chance and see what happens.
Then that puts my in another debate, what site. I've had money before at PS's and FT, how should I split it up, or put it all in one account??? I have no freaking clue.

UltimateBetUltimateBet are one of the older rooms on the internet with a great range of games to play and a 111% bonus using the bonus code CARDSCHAT.

Absolute PokerAbsolute Poker offers online poker games to US players with a $500 sign up bonus.

I think you answered yourself. You stated that you seem to do better playing live.

Since it is a new deposit, I suggest you go to a new site where you get a first deposit bonus. You seem to play at the major ones already, though. Have you ever deposited at Ultimatebet or BD? If not, consider those.

I've thought about going to Absolute and depositing there, but I'm not sure. I really like the layouts at PS and FT, thats why I've always played there.
I really don't like the tournaments they have at BD, or the look.....I might try Ultimatebet though.....
I know I sound picky, but you guys understand, you wouldn't go buy a car if you don't like how it looks.

The site you choose doesn't matter all that much as long as it has enough players to always get the game of your choice going.

Also, put all the money on one site. If you're serious about building a bankroll, it'll take you twice as long if you split it up.

In the short period of time that I've been a member of CC, I've heard this type of comment for too often. It baffles me. The important things surely are getting money in and out, traffic, and the fish factor! What the hell does it matter what it looks like? Do you sit at the table and gaze admiringly at the software / graphics, or do you enjoy the game and the challenge of making a profit? So long as everything works as it should, you are not even going to notice what it actually looks like after the first session!

If I buy a car, I do care what it looks like, but if I buy toilet tissue I don't care, I'm only going to ........ [no, lets not go into detail of what I'm going to use it for]! I'm sorry if this sounds a little abrasive, but for the life of me I can't work out why otherwise well reasoned people get so hung up about the appearance of a poker table.

I recommend throwing that whole $500 check on one site. Play $10/20 SNG headsup and you will make some nice monies. If you dont stink!

Yeah but if I don't like how something looks or its not fitting to me then I won't enjoy myself....Its hard to explain and all....

Well unless I get a wild hair up my ass and throw my money online I'm going to Agrosy next weekend and see what I can do there.

125 ain't much for live play, depending on your style of play I'd split it between PS and FT and concentrate on 2 & 5.00 MTT tournaments.

Ultimatebet isn't a bad choice, I find the play similar to FT, fairly decent players and the tournaments are medium sized.

PS tournaments have really large fields and you have to dodge the lucky donks but the pay off is better if you can make the final table. I like PS so I'd probably go for PS and FT but if I could I'd open a Ultimatebet as well just for choice and variety.

Despite recent changes in the points system at Ultimatebet, they still have a lot to offer for a limited BR. Their bonus structure is very faur; you accrue your bonus as you play, rather than having to play for days/weeks/months in order to clear any bonus money. Also, their SnG structure is about the best I've seen, they offer a good variety of cash games at low stakes, and competition is generally soft. Plus, you can play rock, paper, scissors competitively. Steer clear of their Blackjack tables, though, they're rigged.

Depending on how you deposit, I've found Ultimatebet about the easiest site I've dealt with to cash out from. Using my ePassporte account, it's never taken me more than 18 hours to have cash from Ultimatebet cleared and available.

You have an ideal bankroll for playing $5 SnG's online. Im not sure $125 is enough of a roll for live play, and I would not advise splitting it up unless you fancy playing $1 SnG's for a few months

I suggest depositing on somewhere with a good new player bonus - from the post above Ultimatebet sounds like a good candidate. Good luck! Oh yeah... if you can get some rakeback too!

if you are not confident with yourself and your play ,divide your money to your excisting accounts and play small sng s for a while, you can minimise the risk factors by doing this.Good Luck

I've taken $125 to the casino before, sat down at a 1-2 limit table and made a nice profit.

If you're using it on poker don't split it any more ways than you must.

Put as much as possible on a site, and play smart :S

I seem to remember that Scott Tissues worked really well when we were tossing them over our friends trees. You can get a really good drape out of them too... (ahem... memories)

Abrasive... considering your previous sentence.... Really, I don't care what a site really looks like, but the performance of Ultimate Bet and most recently Bodog just put me on tilt way too often.

Crummy - for the money - take it live and have a great weekend.

Do whatever you're most comfortable with - as you no doubt know though, $125 will last a lot longer online. Live it's only really enough for one session, and if you lose in that then you're back to scratch again.
