What did you feel in the first offline tournament?

I,for example, strongly worried, especially when came АА or КК...

Not much... Tho 1st freeroll i was to worried about making the money.
it's when you think about making it in the Money you lose.

Although I have never played with more then 15 people and it was usually a rebuy tournament and a cash out system later, I never really worried when I got anything in fact... I used my superior acting skills to benefit me when making my aces look weak preflop and postflop...

Honestly, nothing compares to the feel of live poker, holding those aces and making your moves.

I remember my first live tournament and you have to deal which i was awful at.

I have played a few live tourneys at casinos.
The first one had a structure that was a little screwy more based on luck. Actually was dealt aces first hand and won with no show down. So right off i fealt good. Ended up loseing that one, but won the next one. I'm sure everyone had some pre tourney jitters before they played a live casino tourney, it wasn't too bad for me though. Winning the second one sure gave me confidence to know i could hang though.

I remember my first live tourney (Approx. $30 SNG) - I was scared shitless. I think it is just normal to be nervous, I still do if I am playing a higher buy-in tournament, but the nervousness dies in the after 5-10 minutes.

Yes! 2 first freerols I have lost ,the first thanks to this excitement, but in the subsequent games I occupied prize-winning places, certainly not always...After this excitement was gone and it was very interesting to observe of beginners and see in them myself!

In my first live tourney I was nervous as you can be. My palms were sweaty and my heart was racing. I was able to calm down after a few hands were dealt. The first hand I was really in, where there was betting and raising, I felt my face getting redder and redder. I thought everyone at the table could read that in me.

I got into poker playing live in bar tournaments - I was nervous at first, but it wasn't a really big deal.

I was really nervous the first time I played in a casino tournament though. I got over it after I won a couple of pots and it got to the first break, but before that I was hella-shaky. Probably didn't help that it was a rebuy and I had one of those arseclowns who insists on criticising every single play at the table on my left.

I get very nervous when I haven't played live in a while. After a good couple hands, I'm ready to go and I just play my game. I agree that nothing compares to playing live, and I love the feeling of picking up a huge pot and I see the chips pushed my way.

My first live tourney was in France, I thought I had a handle on French poker terminology, until somebody pointed out that I should be say "je me couche" not "je couche". Je me couche meaning I lay down as in I fold, whereas je couche is a term used by loose women to say they give up the crown jewels easily.

I did a lot of "couching !!!!!!", I had the worsed run of deals I can ever recall and didn't win a single hand throughout, eventually bombing out when low stacked going all in on the only half decent hand I had all night, pocket J's whuch turned to 3's, taken down by a flush.

I have only played 1 casino tournament ever in Vegas, I play quite a few home games but I dont think that counts since I know the people. I was really nervous and when I got dealt something as difficult to play as pair of 6 in the first hand my first thought was if I was gonna go out right away. Raised that hand a little from mid position, got a coupple of callers, made a continuation bet and got one caller and then decided not to put more chips in.

Won my first ever live casino tournament pot a coupple of hands later and felt much better, enjoyed the rest of the tournament greatly, although I didnt make the money and are really looking forward to going back to Vegas in a months time .

I live in Norway and casinos are not allowed at all here, so I am only able to play in casinos once a year or so

wen i 1st played live in a casino ,it was a 20 pound rebuy..in circus casino manchester ,,i couldnt stop shakin for the 1st hour i was nervous as hell,,,plus it was pot limit ,,and wen i kept bettin i kept overbettin the pot and mi table was laffin there yheads off at me,,,,was pure funny....wen i settled down i stoped shakin and buzzed off the whole nite,,,i ended up on final table with 1 ov mi m8s and we splitt our winnins he came 3rd and i placed 6thwe took home 1300 pound between us.....top nite

Not my first one, but played live last weekend.

Not really overly nervous any more, but I do get frustrated with the different style of play.

Much looser, lot's of bluffing.

The worst thing is that it's so easy to get hopelessly card dead and get blinded to the point of no return.

Did get A's once UTG. So worried about getting drawn out, I raised 7xBB.
I think I looked foolish, honestly. All folded, and when I didn't turn them over, I got a couple snorts from the other end of the table.

Then after a LONG period of nothing, I maybe have 9 or 10 BB's left and get KQs in the CO, a totally marginal hand. UTG +1 raises maybe 3xbb.

I think the right thing to do was just call and see a flop, but impatience was on my left shoulder and inexperience was on my right shoulder, both telling me to SHOVE! So I did.

He had 10's, and instead of hitting a K, or a Q or a bunch of hearts, a 10 hits on the flop and I'm done.

I get nervous (even though it's been awhile since I played live) the same way that I used to get nervous (or excited) right before a highschool game. Always goes away after about 5 min. though.

I just played in a casino for the first time--and for the first night i was nervous as can be--especially when i started putting more money into pots then I ever have in my life. Damn it was amazing =)

Oh yeah, my first live tourney in a casino was a train wreck. I folded my first hand - it was a 3 way, I had middle 2 pair on a dry board and because I was raised I folded thinking the other person must have a bigger 2 pair or a set. I was so nervous, sweating, palms sweating, shaking, the whole nine yards. LOL at the way I used to be. So easy to pick out now who the noobs are.

Second tourney I was nervous but didn't exhibit signs - of course I had a couple of shots to calm my nerves then did fairly well, lol.

I've played a few live tourneys. I tend to be anxious, and worry that I am leaking tells like a sieve. I can't see the cards in the middle as well as I like, and I keep peeking at my hand. I can't make reads on other players mostly. I have to keep asking what the blinds are, and can't calculate the size of the pot. I am uncomfortable physically and look uncomfortable handling cards and chips. I do a lot of faking coolness. I have made it to final tables more than once, and into the money-- dunno how. It's all kind of a blur.

my 1st live game was at a casino and i came 4/60 ppl to win a huge £250 from summit like £20. I was shakey and lil bit nervious, not to help out too that i had to b the dealer! But the table were great and they jus told me to relax and have fun. I played tight solid poker as i had never played in a casino b4.
Now i love playin in casino's but since my job is a nacker i hardly get to play in 'em any more

My first and only live tourney was about 3 years ago in Atlantic City, a $30 buyin as I remember. I remember the blinds went up fairly fast, and a lot of folks were re-buying. About the time I was about to be blinded out, I got K-K, went all-in and got called by one person with Q-Q. Of course, another queen came on the flop and I was done. It was nice however to play with real cards for a change.

My first live tourney was actually 2 in a row one night. I had committed to playing in the one tourney but then the night of was really sick but decided I was going to play any way I ended up winning the first tourney and was so excited that when told a second was starting up about 10 minutes after the one finished that I then signed up for that one and finished second. To bad it cant always be that good. Was told afterwards by an opponent I played against in both tournies that because of my sickness I simply looked like death warmed over and that he could not get any reads on me all night so I guess it all worked for the best.

Was nervous till I had a drink. Nerves settled down and i did great... Played aces and kings like a pro then lost with 78. Lot of good that did me. Really a true story. Honestly do so much better live than online but not many here would believe that. I really have to search for live games around here but luckily a member here has gotten me into a live game which has boosted my BR significantly... They play close to four nights a week and in the last three weeks ive been successful. Lets hope it keeps up

It was hard to play because you know people are actually watching for tells and you are supposed to be looking for tells more than from just the betting amounts / time.

I remember my first cash game, I snuck into a church casino charity game type thing. I was only 16 and it was a 1/2 NL Holdem cash game I only put 20 dollars down, and I lost it, lol. I flopped a pair of jacks on a queen high board, I lost about 30 bucks all-in on that hand, because I went all in with a pair of aces before and won. I was so mad, because that was alot of money to me at the time.

i felt nervous, scared of doing shit wrong. hands were shaking. but after a few hours you get over it.

didnt help that it was a gay self dealt game and i sucked at dealing.

My first offline tourney was the first time I ever played poker (and actually is where my addiction started.lol). A local tile distributor has a annual game, which usually has around 100 people or so and is a 25$ buy in. I had no strategy, starting hand guides, betting principles...nothing. I was completely lost. Just played the cards, called whatever raises if I felt like it and I was done within half an hour. I'd say within the first 5 people. The next year I took 6th. Funny thing though. The guy that got knocked out first the year I started, took first (actually chopped top 2 players) the next year.
