What am I doing wrong? I play .25/.50 hold'em at bodog. I play only six player tables. I should be winning about 16% or 17% of the hands. I don't and I do not know what I am doing wrong. It's more than you're not staying in enough hands. Today, I won .15. My stats are usually like the ones listed below. Here are my stats. Hands played 72 Hands won: 11% Showdowns won: 56% Flops seen: 36% Win % if flop seen: 31% I would appreciate any help you could give me to improve my game. I have spent much time reading books. Almost all is on ten handed games. I am at a loss. I do not know what to do to improve.

I'm no six max player, but if you are serious about analysing and improving your game you are going to need some detailed stats and really should invest in Pokertracker. You are also going to need a bigger sample of hands. Around 10,000 should do it Any winning session is a good one, but if you are averaging between 2 and 4 BB profit every 100 hands you are doing well.

Your stats package is limited. That said: a) you don't seem to win many hands without seeing a flop so you need to look at your pre-flop betting strategy; b) you go to the river without wiining as much there as you should - this could be due in part to a) i.e. unwillin to concede defeat on the river with good starting hands such as AQs that you have been outdrawn on. Finally, what matters is how much money you are winning/losing not number of hands per se assuming you are not playing simply for enjoyment. All the best,

re: What am I doing wrong? poker Here are some additional stats. Hours played 150 Hand played 11,660 Win rate per hour $.95 These are the only records I have kept. I keep records on my opponents. I try not to chase. Will not stay to the river with AQ with any betting if I do not hit. I have had two sixty dollar drawbacks, loses, over several sessions. I feel I should be doing better than I am.

Your best bet is to post some hand histories where you think you may have either not maximised things or lost more than you needed, or got lucky. Plenty of people here who will start you thinking in the right areas. Joining in the discussion of other people's hands is also a great idea as it forces you to articulate your thoughts and consider whether they stand up to scrutiny. Either way the fact that you are thinking about these things bodes well for your game.
