Well, I sorta did it...

Well, I didn't build a huge bankroll, but I did build some-what of a bankroll starting at $0.

I think last month (or 2) I made a topic about how I will try and build a bankroll out of only freerolls.

Today I hit the $25 mark so I consider that I did it.

I am still playing, but I am playing smart. I am probably not doing proper BR management, but I am doing "smart for me" management so I won't lose the money even with 10+ bad beats consecutively.

Yay for freerolls

Still at $25, but now I have 40 FPPs more ^^

I wanna hit $100 by the end of the month (that is if I do very bad, but at the same time don't lose)

I don't do crazy. I will admit I am playing .10 / .25 limits (and I am at $30 with 50FPPs now ^^). And I am not playing tight at all, here is my loosest session so far.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 299 hands and saw flop:
- 33 out of 55 times while in big blind (60%)
- 27 out of 54 times while in small blind (50%)
- 83 out of 190 times in other positions (43%)
- a total of 143 out of 299 (47%)
Pots won at showdown - 33 of 60 (55%)
Pots won without showdown - 43

$30 at $25max is pretty much guaranteed to go busto, but GL. I suggest $10max, but if you don't mind risking huge portions of your BR at a time (that's how I started :P), keep going with $25max if you're winning.

I risk $5 at a time (min. buy in).

I have only had 1 non-winning session at .10 / .25 so far. (trips lost to river straight)

And I have been taking my bad beats quite well too (don't even think about them lol)

Thanks for all the advice though

To paraphrase somebody, "A pro wants to take $750 and make a profit of $75 by the end of the month, an amateur wants to take $25 and make a profit of $75 by the end of the month."

Then you should just play $5max. Playing with 20 BBs is just not a good idea. Wait until your next downswing and you'll see why.

Well, I didn't just hit it. I have had $$ (15+) in my account for about 4 - 5 days now.

Currently at $42 with 54FPPs.

I know what I am doing at these tables and know that I am always at a risk. But if I start losing, I leave. That simple.

Being aware of the risk does not prevent the risk. With $42, you are almost rolled for $5max, which is almost enough to sustain a bad run.

The point is: one downswing at the stakes you're playing and your BR is gone in a flash. That simple.

Also, be aware: "I start losing, I leave" does not help when your top set gets sucked out on by straight draws a few times and your BR is gone, rather than being cut in half - that's where BR management really is significant.

No, I can lost 3 full $5 buy-ins and just move down in level. It's really that simple for me, I do not play "real" BR management until I am at ~$250.

So if I get 3 bad beats that I am all-in on, then I can move down in level. That is very, very unlikely to happen the way I play. (at least without gaining money while losing, which would even out at worst)

Well $5 is not a full buy-in really. Playing with 20 BBs really minimizes your room to maneuver (you can't freely 3-bet, 4-bet, etc) and, in a way, minimizes skill.

Then again, I started my BR without proper BRM, so it's up to you.

Lets just say I am confident enough in my play to go at these limits with my current BR.

Well, I am trying to win at SnG, $3.25 6-man ones. (2 at a time)

We'll see how that goes, but I think my tourney play is much worse than ring table.

This was mainly how I built my roll. I suggest you play 1 at a time if you don't think you're a great tourney player (and post HHs in HA section), and don't multitable until you figure out that you can regularly beat those SNGs.

My .02 of course.

That is cool and what im also trying to do right now...
What place and how much did you cash in on the freeroll? (I assume you won one of them)

On the Full Tilt I can get to the top 100 around 50% of the time but bust between top 40-80...sucks to have put in 4 or 5+ hours of playing to bust out that close, lol. but oh well
