Well I have some somewhat good news First I would like to thank cardschat for having a great free roll, I came in 4th place last week to get 20 bucks, too bad from all the suck outs and rivers I have already lost 3 bucks of it, now on the good side of the news, this guy im doing work for I call him boss, he played a live game with 95 people, took first place, but here is what is interesting, they were in the game 4 and half hours into the game when they reached the final table, so they all decided to with 3 of them left to just split it all, he walked away with 1800 dollars, not bad for a 65 dollar investment, now my brother who is a semi pro, I will ask him but my guy was the chip leader and I think had my brother would have been in the game, he would have not made a deal, he would have taken it to the max, still a good pay day, but first place paid $3600, now my boss said he would pay my way into the game, cause he knows im dam good, I have played him and he is dam good too, im chewing on it, cause if I win I have to split my winnings, im thinking hell I will just pay my way and take the win and call it a day, well see, but it has been a good poker week in all fairness.

Someone staking you into a tournament is something to think about. Me personally am risk averse. So if I could win half the money with no investment (excluding time), I would probably lean towards taking a backer. At least until I won enough to cover future entry fees. But if you are good enough to have enough positive expectations when you play, then you should be in as many tournaments as you have time to play. Good luck in either case and bring home some cash!

Take the offer imo. Even the best of players don't cash but once every few tourneys, sng's etc; You have no way of knowing if you will experience a sick beat like having AA and some guy calling with 89 su and flop coming A67, and he hits his 10 on river. You just can't count on cashing every time you play so take the deal. Splitting the winnings is a typical deal for being staked and if you aren't financially rolled to afford to enter into this thing every week then it's better for your bankroll to get staked.

re: Well I have some somewhat good news poker Yeah buddy you should definitely take the offer, free money is free money. But on the other side you could buy ur own way in and have all the hard earned winnings for yourself only loosing the chance to play loose poker with someone elses money.Cheers and gl @the tbls

I'd have to agree with everyone else so far, it seems like a deal you can't pass up. It's win-win. If you lose the tournament then you still got the $65 and if you come in first then you still get about 1800 bucks. Like you said that's not a bad investment.

re: Well I have some somewhat good news poker Yeah, I had a friend offer to stake me in a tourney before and split the winnings. I should just get over it and take it, but I'd feel bad either way: If I lost his money, I'd feel worse than if I lost my own (because he's my friend), and if I won, I'd feel bad because, had I just used my own money, I would have been able to keep all the winnings instead of split it. However, I've usually had some extra cash to use to tournies, but if you're really hurting for money and wouldn't be able to play unless someone staked you, I'd say take it!
