Was watching high stakes poker..

Well I'm sure this is probably an easy question for most of you but I was just watching High Stakes Poker on TV and Negreanu called an all in with AK vs the other guys (not sure of his name) KJ. The guy with KJ won, and then the dealer put out a 2nd board and Daniel won. My question is why did they put two boards out? My guess is it's what you do in a cash game when someone is all in?

they ran it twice

means you get a shot at winning at least half the pot, reduces variance.

now u can run it as much times as u want
but it has to be a mutual decision between the players in the hand
and it only applies in cash games

Dont know from personal experience but from what I hear high stakes players will often make deals like running the board twice or more to cut down on the volatility of losses that come with NL play. I have seen such deals as where they will just divide the pot with the favor getting a lil bit more.

no. If the players agree they can run it twice, but normal rules would be just once. They're just playing for so much money I'm sure they want to do whatever they can to reduce variance. Although I'm sure they're playing with pocket change to them lol.

This is a popular cash game variation of double flop holdem. When 2 players are all-in preflop and they agree to have the board dealt twice. I've seen and agreed to this deal several times at regular holdem tables I've played at in Vegas.
