VPiP 10 vs 6

Hey guys i`m new to all this HUD stuff.. just started using HUD 2 weeks ago... before i did not use any programs and i was doing fine making some money.. my question is... I know that many people say that VPiP over 24 is a bit loose but they usually talk about 10 people tables, what about 6max? my current VPiP on 6max table is 36% and i feel like i`m folding majority of my hands.. I cant imagine going down to 24% . What do you guys consider proper Vpip for 6 max?

24 is extremely loose for full ring. 36 for 6 max is almost certainly horrible, since you have to be insanely good/aggro with excellent hand reading skills to play at a vpip that high.

More important than vpip is the vpip/pfr ratio. I'm going to guess you are something like 36/15 or something and pay almost no attention to position. Your vpip/pfr should be close to 1, which means no open limping and little cold calling.

It depends on your style but you have to be pretty good to make anything more aggro than say 28/24 work at 6max, and you wouldn't want to get too much over say 20/17 or so at full ring i'd imagine, and most FR TAGS are more in the vicinity of 16/13 or even tighter.

Learn about position, coz with 36 you are almost certainly not positionally aware. Fold alot of hands from UTG and UTG+1, loosen up a bit in HJ, play quite loose on the CO and play very loose on Btn and tighten up again in the blinds.

36% is super loose for 6max. Only a few extremely good players can play good enough post-flop to make that profitable.

Also, as mentionned, vpip/pfr ratio is super important.

Finally, if you feel like you're folding the majority of your hands, well, that's what you have to do to win at this game. If it bores you, the solution is to play multiple tables, not to loosen up at the one table you're playing.

I think the reason why my stats seem so loose is because i`m paying $0.01/$0.02 . I have tried to play tight once before at about 24(i`m estimating it since i never used any software to track it but i just know i played only top hands) and it seemed like i could not make any money. Somehow at the penny tables i like to see a lot of flops cheaply so i play a lot of hands from late/middle position. There is a lot of players here who overplay pairs and it seems to me like playing very tight is profitable but with the players who play so poorly postflop i tend to do well when i see a lot of flops. So i limp in for 2 cents as much as i can with suited As and sometimes Ks, any other suited connectors and gappers. I know people say not to limp in a lot but that might be the case in the low/mid/high stakes but i think that since penny tables (1/2 not sure about 2/5 , 5/10 and 10/25) have so many bad players one can limp a lot especially if the table allows it. Am i mistaken? Anyone else has some experience with 1/2 penny 6max tables?

btw.. i`m actualy 36/7 (VPiP/ PFR) although i played 1200 hands yesterday and my stats were 31/7.

36/7 basically makes u a fish/calling station.
Your playing to many hands and calling way to many raises,at 0,01/0,02 you should really just be playing premium hands in position and value betting them to death.
Stop calling raises and start 3-betting or folding.
Tighten up and start value betting more/better to get your win rate up.

Hehe , i never though of myself as a calling station. I rarely call raises. limping, yes, but raises?not really.. I`m gonna try what you guys are saying. So far what i`ve been doing has been working but i guess there are things i can improve on. I wasnt planning on playing like that at the 2/5 , i was going to tighten up.

That's the first thing I think when I see a 36/7 at the table... easy money.

I play ~32/28 right now when I play 6-max, and its honestly probably not an optimal strategy. You just get into a ton of sticky spots where you've got a mediocre hand. I think it makes me a better player at a faster rate, but its almost certainly lowering my win rate overall.

meh, at 2nl people are so bad post-flop and you can play so deep that preflop stats are probably entirely irrelevant anyway.

They would be irrelevent, except that most people who play 36/7 also suck horribly postflop
