UNIBET SUX Way too many problems and support is a joke. It usually took at least twenty-four hours for any response. Anyways this is my querry.... I have never closed a poker account before so I was wondering if these steps seemed weird to anyone else. First off I had to send three Emails to say that I wanted my account closed. They kept sending me a reply that said if you still want to remove your account please email a confirmation of this. Okay on the third response they said I had to sign into my account and select self exclusion option. I did that. Then I received this response: In response to your self-exclusion request, your Unibet account is now locked for the next six months effective immediately. By choosing the self-exclusion option, you've accepted the terms developed by Unibet together with G4 (the Global Gambling Guidance Group) as outlined below: Terms and conditions for self-exclusion I request that UNIBET (the company) prohibit me from entering and remaining in the company's site in order to prevent me from placing bets in accordance with its Responsible Gaming and self-exclusion policy, and tender my resignation as a member for this purpose. I agree not to enter or attempt to enter the UNIBET site during the length of this self-exclusion period. I understand that I may be blocked from the UNIBET site if it is discovered that I have a second account. I understand that I will not be eligible to be admitted to the company or re-apply for membership for a minimum period of six months commencing on the date of acceptance of my resignation and agreement by the company to exclude me, subject to certain limited exceptions as determined by the company. I agree to the company retaining the right to consider any such admission or application subject to the Board being satisfied that I have sought appropriate counselling and assistance for my gambling problem and am fit for membership. I agree that the company does not admit or assume any liability whatsoever in agreeing to exclude me. I understand that, while the company will take all steps reasonably necessary to comply with my request for exclusion, the company makes no warranty in this regard, and I agree to fully indemnify the company against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, fines, penalties, causes of action and expenses including legal costs which the company may incur, suffer or be required to pay by reason of my breaching any exclusion agreement that may be made by the company. I acknowledge that the company will not be obliged to pay to me any prize that I may win while making bets on the UNIBET site whilst in breach of this agreement. I understand that the company will maintain the confidentiality of this agreement other than any disclosure that is necessary for its enforcement. I acknowledge that I have been provided with information about the availability of problem gambling counselling services by the company on making this application. I acknowledge that I have been advised that I have the right to obtain my own independent legal or other professional advice regarding self-exclusion, prior to signing this agreement, at my own expense. I make this application of my own free will. Please note that Unibet will not send any further notice or marketing message to you. We will not notify you when the six month self-exclusion period is over. Now my questions: 1- The 2 sections that I bolded and underlined, make it sound like I am leaving because I have a gambling problem and that kind of pisses me off...Does this seem right? 2- The steps that I had to take to get my account closed seemed strange to me, why would I need to self exclude myself instead of them just removing my account as per my request? Please let me know if this is strange or not.....Thanx in advance I really can't believe that this company will be around long with the way the do things.

Why do you need your account locked or whatever? Just dont use it. Self exclusion for 6 months means your account is locked for 6 months lol, maybe they say it like that because, well, thats the point? The whole existance of the self-exclusion system is so problem gamblers dont blow their life savings on online gambling.

Why do I want it completely closed? Well, if I don't trust the integrity of the site due to all the crap that I experienced with them then that should be reason enough to want to make sure that my account is completely removed. The fact that I feel like I had to admit that I had a gambling problem just to close my account made me think this was their way of covering the butts. This takes away from the fact that I had sent them several Emails telling how bad I thought their site was and how tired I was with trying to deal with any issue that came up. I am not leaving Unibet because I have a gambling problem, I am leaving Unibet because I feel they have poor support and business practices. As it stands I only opened the account because one of the communities I belong to started dealing with them. After all the problems that I and many other members had encountered in the two months we were invovled with Unibet, that community has since severed ties with Unibet as well. My main question is simply does it seem right that I have to self exclude myself before my account can be closed? Because I have never closed an account before I just wanted to know......
