UB Signs Prahlad Friedman

I really like Prahlad, he seems like a pretty cool down to earth guy! I hope this works out for the best for him!

I don't understand why UB would sign him up, of all people. It keeps the Great Scandal at the forefront, since he was the player who had the most trouble and lost the most to the insiders. Admittedly, there are newer players who have no clue about that mess.

Maybe UB thought if they signed him up, it would be a sort of verification that the site is safe now. Yeah. Right. That's gonna work. Prahlad is going to lure a ton of players back into the fold? He seems like a nice guy, and he's a great player, from what I know. But a draw?

They must be giving him a sweetheart deal. The kind of deal one cannot refuse with any degree of sanity. Plus his statement is that the new managment did right by him during the scandal mess.

I don't understand the move from UB's perspective, then again, I don't really know what they could do to improve site traffic.

As far as Prahlad is concerned, he has to follow the money.

ub will never be a top site no matter who they sign. even if they get a few people from wsop they will still be competing for 3rd behind pokerstars and tilt. im not surprised that he signed one because of the money and two because i seen him spirit rock play on they alot when i used to play on there. i took a break from poker for a bit now im back and looking to start owing again very soon.

wondering if Hellmuth and Duke left because of UB's cheating scandal or if UB was not paying them....

My guess was the UltimateBet wasnt paying them for endorsing the site b wearing the UB logo at tourneys.

anyone know?

I'm guessing it's what you said about verifying the site is good. If the most well known player affected by the scandal now plays there, it has to be safe.

I don't know, but I doubt it was cause of the scandal or Ultimate Bet not paying them. My guess is their contracts expired, being the end of the year and all, and either UB chose not to renew them, or either of them have something better to do.

Dont like the sign but what are we talking about UB so i guess its working,Everyone say theres no bad publicity. Prahlad seems like a cool person and i guess UB was the first site to offer him a contract to cant blaim him for taking the money. Daniel started to hate on him becase of the scandal but i would bet all my money that if Stars had sign Prahlad he would be static.
