Trying to improve myself

WAs playing in the CC freeroll last nite. Got there a little late. So first hand i saw i was BB had 6,10 clubs guy raise to 100 blinds were 25/50. I call and flop comes out As 7c 4c. Guy bet 100 i call. Turn comes Ac i go all in and he calls. plays out i win with a flush he calls me a idoit. I dont say a thing. It about 10 hand before I play again. I get Q 10 offsuit, and the flop comes 8 9 J offsuit. Blins are 50/100 I bet 100 he calls. Turn comes another J. I go all in and he call I have St8 and he has 2 pair. River comes J i am beat and he calls me a idiot again. What should i have done in that situation.

In that situation, you should find your chat mute button, and play your hand as you see fit.

Maybe raise the str8 more, hard to say, I wasnt there, so dont know how the table/players were playing or what position you were playing out of, but 1bb on the str8 seems way to small to me. The flush, well, as i said chat mute is your friend.......

in my experience the guys who shout out all that crap are in fact the idiots, do as i do, laugh while they lose money in the long run...

as for your question. it cant really be answered without stack sizes,, but hey, you got it in both times as a distinct favorite.. he sucked out, oh well..

Yea I agree with the fact that most who start insulting others at the table are in fact the real idiots.

If I'm playing lower tables (especially freerolls), and someone calls me out, I usually respond with "I know I'm a (their insult), that's why I'm playing at these low limits... why are you here?"

When I call myself out right back to them, it leaves them no where to go. Even if you're not a (insert insult), it's no sweat, it just takes the wind out of their sail. They may continue a time or two more, but if you joke with them, they'll stop after a while. Sometimes I've found those villains to end up telling me "good game" or something of the nature since I was able to take their ribbing.

Never let them tilt you. Don't get into a name calling match, it will only escalate the situation. And, depending on the site, you could end up in trouble with the site.

It's the same thing we're taught in life. If you let someone get to you, they will keep on.

I would ignore him. Everybody thinks they are better than the next guy. Stay cool and wait for your time. Big grin when your produce the successful trap.

I will bet you get the same comment from him. Just laugh and enjoy it.

Just ignore them.
If you must respond, just say "Thank you" and leave it alone.
Most of these guys will drop it, the ones who keep at you are really affecting their own game more than yours.

If it is in a CC game, copy the offending chat and paste it in a PM to a mod here. Berating and insulting chat is not tolerated in CC games.

For the record, since a min raise was involved, it weren't me.

I don't even bother to answer them. I would rather beat him at poker and watch that person go out before me.

play ur game, everyone has their own particular style that they play. whatever works for you. play just premium hands does not work. bust em up, if they r crying ur winning!
