Sorry, Bro. See now, there are ways for people to be offended by being ON the list as well as by not being on it. These lists are nothing but trouble.

And I have to agree with Mucky about this line, but it applies to everyone regardless of gender. So you could probably lump me in with the girls. I don't post enough in the hand analysis area, so my skills are not as well-known as those who do. (Though I must say that I've seen Aloe and BBB post there in spurts and they have probably posted there more than me over the last year.) But I also must say that I kinda like my skills to be a bit of a secret for now. I'd consider myself a cash game player, but I don't brag about it. (If you want to know more about me, read my blog.) I like the fact that no one considers me a "top player". So I'll tell you that I FEAR NO ONE on this forum except Tenbob and maybe Rex a little. The rest of you can bring it on!

*******
But that also brings up the subject of why some people don't post much in the Hand Analysis section. Some people are afraid to get overly criticized (I've seen it happen here). Others might want to keep their mistakes a secret. In my case, the hands I've posted in the past haven't gotten enough responses to satisfy me. I've been told that my hands have been either "too standard" or "too complex" for people to jump in and give their opinion.

I think that this issue deserves more attention than who thinks who is a "top player". I might even start a separate thread about this issue, so be on the lookout.

There will be many regs on here who have been missed out, either through ppl forgetting or that they just don't post enough in certain sections of the forum.

I think this thread has somewhat diverted from it's initial intent. I don't know if the op just meant it to be about playing a sng, I think that was just an example.

As for pro players, well yes the majority of online pros will be cash players, but there's still a decent proportion that are sng'ers imo.

HU sng's are a bit different imo. Realistically they could just go play HU on a cash table for the same amount, but without the potential massive rake.

ok personally I don't like the idea of threads like this. I usually just ignore them but now there seems to be a big ego battle. Most good players are playing for the money, not the ego. Poker also has so many variables, so determining who's better at poker is extremely tough to do. Obviously you could just say whoever wins the most money is the best player. But for example one player may struggle with a loose aggressive game, another one may be able to crush cash games and struggle with MTTs, someone else may be the other way around. Honestly I think whether you're better than the other people here is irrelevent. You're playing poker to beat the game you're playing. If you are, there's no reason to talk. I've rarely run into another CC player at the tables anyway (apart from CC sponsored games), and when I do I usually just try to steer clear of them anyway because there are easier fish to exploit. Basically poker-wise I couldn't care less if every single CC player were better than me as long as they aren't playing the same games I am. If they are, then I look at them, see what I think their strengths/weaknesses are and if I can exploit anything, but most of the time it's just avoid them. We can both take the money from the fish.

In terms of the OP, I know he meant well, but going pro has nothing to do if you can beat good CC players. Especially if you're playing live, usually it's how good you are at crushing donks and tourists, not how good you can play against other good players.

I don`t know that that`s necessarily true. I believe there are a number of successful online pros who make their bread and butter by multitabling SNGs.
yea sure but my point still stands. Even sng players will specialize at a certain type...there is a big difference between HU/6 max/9 player sngs...there is a big difference between different stakes.

Trying to get some CC players to randomly play a given game type, be it HU/6max/FR sng or cash, is just going to be a complete mess, because some ppl are good at cash bad at sngs/mtts , good at 6 max bad at FR and vice verse and on and on and on.

2+2 has a list of Supernova Elites. It's a gigantic thread of people trying to make it (in the Internet Gambling subforum). And everybody who doesn't mind their name being on the list gets their VPPs posted by Scotty who works for Pokerstars.

Typical guy all mouth no trousers -

I've offered advice before in other forums but most players just ignore most of it in Advice sections and other articles on the internet because they think they are the greatest and dont need it

Just because you can analyse a hand and talk about it afterwards doesnt make you a good player. Playing poker is in the present can you analyse in a few seconds or do you have to check your arty farty graphs and poker tracking software before you can make great decisions.

Never give back - as above just because people dont analyse hands and offer advice doesnt mean they cant play poker. No good talking the talk if you can't walk the walk

Didnt stand out to me, cos you only think of yourself and your pipe smoking slipper wearing buddies

This is my 51st month playing poker and unless I lose every game i play this month and start throwing lots of cash games will be my 51st in profit.

Since 31st July won 9 Cardschat tournaments

If based on cash games then there are lots of better players than me, but on recent tournaments over last few months would rate myself as in top 10 of tournaments.

You sound like one of those tossers who run country golf clubs or other establishments that dont allow women to join.

Well you just ignore all the ladies and we'll fly under the radar and when you arent looking take all your chips

We are getting somewhat overwrought, I suggest, and I hesitate to add fuel to the fire.

However, I understand Katy`s frustration. I have played many games with her and I have the strong impression that she is as good as any man here and better than most.

Well excuse me sir but i think you are completely wrong here. First of all, I don't know if you are just sexist or feel that men are superior to women. But whatever the case is, I can assure you that the women on Aloe's list have done more than enough to deserve to be on this ridiculous list that you have created. For instance, Aloe. Who do you think does the leaderboards every week? WHo do you think spends around 40 HOURS a week, almost the same exact time as a full time job, getting the leaderboards prepared for all of the members here at CC. Aloe does. So next time before you go around saying that someone isn't worth being on your "MVP" list or whatever, you should do your homework about the person.......

Let me rephrase, the ladies may be every bit as good if not better than any man in the forum, but as is often said when someone yells poker is rigged. WHERE DO I FIND THE PROOF. I only could go on what i saw not on someone's word. AND AGAIN I SAY

ADD TO THE FREAKIN LIST.
AND DON'T SHOUT AT ME NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU THINK YOU ARE.

yOU did notice the holler but don't hit comment which indicated a joke did you not or are you just not gifted with a sense of humor.
I think it's marvelous that you are a winning player but until this thread i never heard of you.

Are you Billie Jean King or what? Where do you get off judging me? All i did was put down some names based on the data i had.

Take your hard nosed nasty attitude back to to dark room you sprang from.

Hmmmmmmm. Where do you get off judging other people and determining whether or not "they're good enough" to make your "elite" list? Insulting people (even more) will get you nowhere. I think you need to check yourself on this one bud.
