Time for a long poker break

First of all let me say this, I'm addicted to poker! It's like a super addictive drug to me, I've told myself I'd take long breaks before but ended up only taking short breaks. I just brought my XB360 back from home to my dorm and I've been playing Call of Duty 4 lately (amazing game) so I'm gonna play that instead of poker for a while. In the past I've found whenever I take a lengthy break and start again I'm playing my A game.

good luck, playing some other type of game (solitaire, Madden, Call of Duty, w/e) helps just get your mind off poker and then when you get back your mind's a lot more clear and you're able to settle in and play your game. Good luck.

Ya, call of duty 4 is amazing, and madden is great with friends over.

Oh, and the addiction is only mental, not physical so it should be very easy to get over it. I haven't deposited my own money in quite some time now after I decided I don't want too (doesn't mean I 100% stopped playing poker, but I play about 95% less than I used to until I feel ready to deposit again)

^^^ I dont know about the u.s, but its out in the uk in just over a week. Big online races ftw + it comes with a wheel to put the remote in + it has bikes aswell as karts

After checking it out online looks like Mario Kart for wii is set to hit the US on April 27th.

I feel the same. I try and take time off from poker, but I can't go 1 day without it. I play before work, when I get home from work, when I should be sleeping. It's bad. I actually feel like I'm playing my worst poker the last 3 or 4 days. Maybe I'll play some guitar hero or maybe just go play 7 card stud for a month. Man I have it bad!

I hear COD 4 is amazing, ive seen pix and it looks great my friends want me to play on xbox live with them but like you im addicted to poker.

Xbox is a great tool to have to break the monotone of playing poker for most of the day

I hate to be mean but I've seen this same type of thread from Ben before. Then the next day he is posting hand histories.

I quit playing poker every time I stop, until I start playing again :-P

I quit staying up as soon as I fall asleep and I quit sleeping as soon as I wake up.

I don't know if I could take a long break from poker. Good luck with your break and hopefully it helps you out.

breaks are always good every once in a while, last time i took a break and came back i was running very good and playing good too. 2 weeks is a long break for me too lmao and im a poker addict just like u too.

Anyways, I'm gonna be away from poker for a while too as I have to write my bachelors thesis (still need to write about 25 pages and have less than 2 weeks). Also been on a bad run of cards lately resulting me in loosing almost half of my BR.

lol im more of an Overkill whore with any two assualt rifles to clear the challenges, or the shotty sniper combo....but yeah the .50 call is the shiz......what level and prestige are you???

It's tough to take a break!! Being a poker junkie is a tough road-- But it pays to get away for a week or so just to clear your head& to start with a clear mind.

I get tired of playing poker all the time also. Sometimes I will play game and will donk my chips, even wont think that I am doing bad move just I guess too much poker makes me tired but when I dont play it is like a drug lol I will miss it..
