| Time to give up on PT3 This is cut and pasted from a recent post on the Poker Tracker Forum. Hope it's allowed. How do I create graphs in PT3 Sun Mar 08, 2009 6:30 am Hello, how does one create a simple graph for "BB Won" for a tournament, in PT3? In PT2 there was a graph button and you just clicked it and configured the graph. In PT3 I can create reports but do I graph a series of values? Is there documentation for creating graphs? Thanks. greedysoul Posts: 5 Joined: Sat Feb 23, 2008 12:41 pm Top Re: How do I create graphs in PT3 Sun Mar 08, 2009 9:58 am In PT3 you just need to go to the Graphs tab. If you want tournament graphs, make sure you're on the Tournaments tab. At the moment you can only graph money won for tournaments played, but we are planning on expanding the options so that you can graph pretty much anything you would like, unfortunately I don't know when those features will be available. kraada Moderator Posts: 5368 Joined: Wed Mar 05, 2008 2:32 am Top Re: How do I create graphs in PT3 Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:00 am , thanks, I thought I was missing something obvious.OK then __________________________________________________ ______________ PT3 has been out for over a year now and to be honest, I want my money back. 13 months after charging people for a product that's supposed to be an upgrade, the fact is, it is still not as good as PT2. "we are planning on expanding the options so that you can graph pretty much anything you would like, unfortunately I don't know when those features will be available." This has been the the answer to too many legitimate questions for 2 long. "thanks, I thought I was missing something obvious.OK then" OK THEN? Are we friggin DOOR MATTS! We PAID for this? WHERE'S THE F'KING OUTRAGE! I'm tired of this. I'm tired of the system crashes. I'm tired of the disappearing stats I'm tired of having to start and close PT3 6 or 7 times before it actually loads. I'm tired of not being able to make a damn positional graph. I'm tired of inadaquate reports I'm tired of a piece of crap software that's only good for Hold'em and that's debatable. And I'm SOOO tired of listening to those stale promises that PT3 will someday be the tool that we all thought we were paying for. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. It's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! |

| As far as technical issues are concerned like cashes and stats disappearing.. I have to say, for me, those bugs were ironed out very soon after the release. As for features not being added in a timely fashion.. I have to agree with you.. after a year there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. PT3 is a fantastic product with potentially unlimited potential... but if the programmers don't get their act together in the upcoming months.. I may be switching to HEM. |

| im in this predicament at the moment, i switched to mac pro early december, and havent been using pt since, as it is PC ONLY! (mac version was claimed to be in production early 08! and this year pt3 for mac will be created when the issues are less, BS imo) since i switched i purchased Poker Copilot, its nice and simple, and it finds your hands without you telling it to which i was impressed by. also it updates automatically after every hand. set me back $49 tho, and considering i payed what $89 for pt am i spending too much on my stats!? nah its paid for itself many times over. |

Even if the bugs were worked out it's still not a legitimate upgrade. Last edited by Four Dogs : 15th March 2009 at 1:43 AM. |

| re: Time to give up on PT3 poker I tried once to install PT2..Never happened, and I got no useable info from it at all. I applied for, and was extended an invitation to be on eof the Alpha testers for PT3. I didn't take them up on the offer because in Dec of 07 they wanted ring players. However I was there at the release of the first beta. So for me, the current generation of trackers is the only generation. While there are a few things I would love to see in PT3, there are probably a gazillion things I have not even explored yet. It could easily be that the things I want already exist in PT3. Last I heard, HEM wasn't good for tourneys. I'm tourney oriented, so if that still holds true, the HEM is not an option for me. Plus, I was awarded one of the free PT3 packages last year for my help in their development. I thought it was a fluke, but one little suggestion I made solved a shitload of problems for them. Once they started covering Cereus, I was complete. All the sites I regularly play are covered. I'm a reasonably happy camper, and I've got STATS ON YOU!!!!! This is no knock at all on HEM. Nor is it any promo for PT3 but I'm content to grow with PT3 as they continue to evolve. I'm sure the HEM camp will say the same thing. Bottom line is both these are way easier to install than their predecessors, and apparently both support staffs seem committed to stick around till most all of their customers are happy. | I've got PT3 with Vista and no performance problems at all (that's right ladies). However there's some features of HEM that people talk about that I'd like. The absence of an EV line on the graph is probably a blessing in disguise and stops me going insane, but I'd like what appears to be the better functionality of the configurable reports in HEM. Do you know if it's possible to convert a PT3 database to HEM Egon? |

It is definitely possible (and quite easy) to convert a PT2 database, because I did so when I made the change. I assume the same holds good for PT3. |

FWIW, I absolutely love HEM. Their staff is amazing, they answer all your questions quickly and are constantly adding new features. I've only ever had one problem with HEM so far, which was quickly resolved. HEM is so customizable, you can change any of the multitude of reports to display basically any stat you want. The Filter option is ridiculously amazing and easy to use. The only issues I have is you can't edit the stats displayed in the sessions tab and you can't edit the graph (like in PT2). Other than that though, I think it's by far the best tracking software you could get. And let's face it, the Players Tab in HEM is basically like cheating when studying regs you face a lot. |
