Think Tropical Poker might have just ripped off alot of people

How chicken shit is this, Tropical poker has been down for over 3 weeks now, I got one email response from them, waited a week to send them another email to tell them Im nervous cause I do not have access to my money, nor does anyone else, what kind of poker site just goes down without warning for 3 weeks and all they say is were upgrading our software, with 290 bucks I think this is a crap way of doing business, I think I have been ripped off, if they do come back you can be sure as hell bet I will never play on there again, but from the looks of it, I think I just got jacked.

well i havent heard anything yet about it....i have won a couple bucks on there through freerolls.....did you deposit there? if so go to there website and try and find something about refunds or something...other than that wait it out....if your an American player i doubt youll be able to fight at all to get your money back....but optimistacally lets hope they come back so you can withdraw!

I've kinda been expecting something like this to happen, and I expect it to happen again. There's a lot of iffy sites out there. Though I reckon one of the biggest factors is which way the american online poker ban goes. If there is a ban then a few others could be tempted to skip with the money.

I hope that's not the case but I'm doubtful that Tropical will re-surface. They know that if they do everyone will immediately do a run on them.

This is the 4th site taking my money. Fortunately I only had 18c

So far, the following sites took my money:

• Jet Set Poker ($2.40)
• Live Poker ($55.00)
• Pharaohs Poker ($50.00)
• Tropical Poker ($0.18)

Actually, Pharaohs Poker are still "in business", but when I tried to withdraw, they changed the rules and refused. They have no games going at all and with their crooked approach, I don't think they will ever make it.

My advice to any player is: Don't keep money at unknown sites!

Wow Cheetah you got burned by Live Poker too? They still have close to $300 I earned and they won't release. Bastards. (can you tell i'm bitter?)

People should just stop playing at sites that aren't Full Tilt, PokerStars, PartyPoker, Titan, Bodog, and UB. (maybe a few other exceptions)

I went to Pharaohs and saw 0 people there the other night. I have some freeroll money there, but I doubt I'll even get a chance to play it off there.

I feel for you. You got burned even more. I know other players who lost hundreds.

I waited for about 1 year for them to get any games going. When the average number of people continued to be 0, I initiated a withdrawal. There were no restrictions at the time. The bastards then changed the rules and refused to transfer the money based on the new rules.

One of the rules is to first deposit with them. How stupid should one be to deposit money with crooks to get out money they hold hostage.

The other rule is to play certain # of games which is laughable since they have no games at all.

Ok well then it does look like I got shafted, I have done some searches on the internet and seems other people are getting the same message, they just say their coming back, but thats it. If it makes you all feel any better I did not deposit there, I put in for a deposit request a week before they went down and almost followed through, thank goodness I did not, I would have lost that too. Now I'm going to see if I have any contacts in peru, I have a friend who has family there, maybe a couple phone calls, I can't get my hands on them, but they sure as hell can. Its amazing cause from what I read on the net tropical poker was always on the up and up, good response from customer service and I heard people were drawing their money out with no problem.

If they do by some miracle come back online I think the other poster is right, people are going to bail out, but think its safe to say that they stole the money. If it makes you all feel any better I never did make a real money deposit, their rules state that first you have to make a 50 dollar deposit, then and only then can you request a with draw and you have to wait 2 days, plus on top of that you have to make the deposit and with draw in the same month, that caught my eye as weird.

Rule of thumb if you ever deposit at a site and they want you to go to western union to make a deposit, run like hell. I will take the other posters advice, stick to full tilt or bodog.

I must totally agree with vanquish,we as poker player Must start only playing with very reputable sites like pokerstars and the like.I had around 50 bux on tropical too.
Id lost freeroll money on usdbet,and luckyhog,now tropical.Id quit playing tropical after hearing withdraw problems from a few.I guess everyone already knows the usdbet,luckyhog fiasco.
Moral of the story???..Only play where you know it safe,and do alot of research before you depositing real money!***When in doubt,get out***!!!!!
