I have a full tilt poker account with over $500 in it. Since I can't play money games any more, could I sell my account to someone outside the U.S., and then change the account name and address to them and give them my username and password?

Otherwise this money is gone. May as well try to get something for it, right?

No, I wouldn't do anything right now, to early to tell what's going to happen, out of all the sites I've played on then ended up closing only one kept my money, the rest sent me a check or it was transferred to another site.

Holy shit, relax people! It's only been three days! It amazes me the amount of panic I've been seeing. Just sit tight and wait for a bit before doing anything rash.

This. ^^^

Also, for those of us who have a small amount of money tied up right now: Imagine how the US pros who have $500K - $1m tied up online feel. They must be poopin bricks.

Only $500? Consider yourself lucky.

I don't like this comment "only $500"

The amounts in someones bankroll is irrelevant from somenoe with a $1,000,000 BR and someone with a $100.00 Br.

It means just as much to each of the players, people lives and what they are accustomed too. Someone who has a million dollar BR is like anyone elses small BR. They obviously don't have a million online and thats all their life earnings/savings just like someone with a small BR

A million is most likely just a BR to them, something they can afford to lose to a degree. They will have millions tucked away in other places and savings quite likely, just like someone with $100.00.

The value of money is so dependant on someones lifestyle and riches in life.

I'm sure Phil Ivey BR may be 10million which will be frustrating but he for sure has many other millions available, just like my BR is small - small enough to gamble with like Ivey's is small enough for him to gamble with. If we both bust, or lose the money we can if we want both deposit the same amounts again.

Anyway, to the OP : I wouldn't even bother doing that even if you could sell (I doubt anyone would buy it) It wouldn't work changing address etc. It would only have you account closed down anyway and confiscated, just wait it out.

Don't think pros keep that much online, maybe $100k but anymore and it does so much better in investment funs...

I spamkilled that Amaz1ng jackass since 6 of his 7 posts were exactly the same. To OP, don't be ridiculous. Of course you can't sell your account. How would the purchaser even be able to access the funds? It would be totally useless to them.

Look, I know the sky is falling and all that, but chill people. Panicking is not going to do you any favors.

Does anybody know if peeps outside the U.S. are having any luck pulling their money out of FTP? I read that tens of millions of dollars disappeared from these accounts just before the FBI swooped in, and now they've frozen the accounts. There's been a run on FTP by players outside the U.S. to pull their money out. Has anybody been able to get even one dime from FTP since this all happened? My guess is not.

Well, it's only been three or four days, and I would imagine that there is a backlog of cash out requests, so it's too soon to tell.

I don't think anybody will be able to access their funds. That's my point. FTP is ****ed. Just because you can play doesn't mean you can profit. The company's bank accounts have been frozen. There's no money to pay out.

The U.S gov't. isn't going to come after palyers becuase the law wasn't written that way. The 2006 law very clearly pertains to the companies that run the pokr sites and the banks that process payments. This is really more about fraud and money laundering than about gambling anyway.
