The thing about free rolls Being a US player, I have had to lower myself to playing free rolls and pure play, and have found to my disgust that my play over the last 2-3 months has really gotten BAD!! I can't even say that I play better than my husband anymore. And that is REALLY BAD!!! After the whole thing with the internet gambling laws I stopped playing for a long time, what was the point? But I really missed it,so I started with pure play. Don't get me wrong, its fine, you can't lose money, only your monthly fee. And that was a great thing, my husband always ran out my party poker account to $0.00 no mater if I had $20.00 in it or $500.00, everytime I would log on it was gone. That of course was my fault for letting him play on my account. No whining there. This is really just to let everyone know that if you do the free rolls and pure play, it seems normal for someone to go all in with 2 3 off suit, and win!! Watch out!!! Your play, no matter how good it was, will suffer. It seems like I have to learn the game all over, and it is harder now not to make those foolish calls that I would never have thought of making before. So, wish me luck as I go back to the ground basics, and learn it all over again.

You are all right, yes you do learn from the loose players, you just have to make sure you don't get loose. For me its just I get Very P***** when I have a a great starting hand that will lose every time to a crap hand. Can't see the folp unless you follow the all iners, and watch them win with something that no player of any worth would stay on. When this has happened to me tooooo often I see myself starting to play that way. Its just like "why not?" This is what I'm talking about. If its not real money, who cares. When I started to think like this, my play went WAY down. Don't get me wrong, I still win, just not as often, and not in a way that I can say it was from good play on my part. Just dumb luck.

It's all poker. You have to adjust your game to the table at which you are playing. You have to be a chameleon, not a rock. I seem to be nearly alone in admitting that I play Donkey Bingo in the early rounds of freerolls. If I get lucky, I have a big stack to play with, and if I don't, so what. It doesn't become a habit that spreads to real games, because I don't let it. I just played tight as a tick in a live tournament today and took 9th out of 128 to win $110.

Most freerolls are like that. If you survive the first few levels you might start to see some serious poker. I've been in a few on fulltilt that lasted 6 hours. Eventually the donks are weeded out when their luck can't carry them any further.

once the freerolls go on for about an hour the really bad people that really dont seem to care what cards they have before the shove are gone and the real playing usually begins..... im not going to say that people wont still make idiotic moves but the play will get better and you can learn from all different types of players. hope you can get your game back to the previous level you were at and then improve from there

Yes I find that the huge freerolls are terrible..but the freerolls that some of theses great forums run are for the most part good. You will always have your all-in players and donks..but the majority of the players are very good. Enjoy playing ..and dont give your hubby any password's! LOL yankeenut23
