They just put $10,000 in my account.

Noble Poker just put $10,000 into the accounts of the 10 remaining players. So that means that the person who finishes in 10th place at the live final table will not receive any more money and the rest of the players will just get $10,000 subtracted from whatever they win. They said the reason it took so long is because they said they had an unforeseen delay with a third party poker and said that in the next couple of days we will receive all of the info on the tournament. I am now going to withdraw the money and then get ready to go wherever in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the support. I still don't know how the blind structure is going to be, but if they start out low enough I should easily be able to sneak into the top 4-5 and then try to get a double up and then go for the win. But if the blinds start out too high it could be tough for me since I will start in 9th chip position. But I will still give it my best shot either way.

One tip I would come up with is to look at what starting hands give good potential for hitting the big bonuses, and try to play those cheaply. As I understand the structure, don't the hands have to go to a showdown, and you have to use both your hole cards for most of them? That being so, then you're probably looking to take a few cheap flops with appropriate hands, and then try to keep the betting down in the hope of meeting the criteria for the nice bonuses.
The rules for getting the bonuses would also tend to suggest playing relatively loose early on, when seeing a few extra hands hopefully won't cost you as much... although trying to make sure that you don't risk your tournament position too much. If you all have sense then you'll all be playing a fairly passive game hoping to hit the big bonuses, and then the actual placings in the tournament don't matter as much.

Starfall, I don't know the exact rule on the bonuses but I also do think that there has to be a showdown to collect the bonus. That is why if I am able to flop a straight flush or something like that I will probably just check/call to make sure that I get the bonus.

It will be interesting to see if anyone suggests a pre-game deal - either keeping the table of 10 together as long as possible to see as many hands as possible, or a more likely Check down if there is a possibility of a Royal draw on board. If they agree to share any bonus hands equally you'd be quids in, as you're one of the least likely to get one of the hands. I do know that there is a limit to how many hands you can play heads up (200 ish i think). I imagine most players would be more focused on winning the real money though, as they should.

I'd love to hear the story of the qualifying game - how it went, what hands you had, how the final couple of tables panned out, what the atmosphere was like etc etc.

Ok robwhufc, I will try to remember how the tournament played out but it has been a month so I may forget about some things. There were a total of 1717 players and it lasted over 7 and a half hours. We started out with 3000 chips and the blinds went up every 30 minutes. The first hour was bad for me I only had a couple of hands worth playing and I lost with most of them and at the first break I only had 2500 when the average was around 4500. Then the second hour was one of the best I was able to double up with pocket kings and then a couple of hands later I won a huge pot with AA knocking out somebody with QQ and I was up over 12000 at break number 2. I don't rembember the 3rd hour but there was a huge hand during the 4th hour. I was in the big blind with 10D 7D and one guy raised minimum and everyone folded but me. The flop is 3 diamonds and we both check, turn is nothing really and I bet 2xBB and he raises the minimum and I call, river is a blank, I check he bets 2xBB and I call figuring he has a better flush and I am right when he flips over AD JD. I could have been eliminated on that hand if he played it stronger but I was able to stay in with 13000 chips. The next hour becomes tight as this is when it is getting close to the money. I end up making the money and then I just keep trying to stay alive until the next payout level. This strategy works as I am able to creep up into higher levels of money and also double up a couple of times with 1010 and JJ to keep me at the average chip stack. So now we are in the top 27 and guaranteed $1700 but I am below average and need to make a move so I am in the big blind with QJ suited and the dealer goes all in and I decide to gamble and call his all in which pretty much puts me all in. He has AK, I flop a straight, and he is gone. I am then able to double up the next hand with AK against AJ and this puts me over average as we go into the next break. About 23 people left and here is where I start to get some good hands I get AK, KK, QQ, KQ suited and I am able to knock 2 people out and know we are at the final 2 tables and I am in 7th place in chips. A couple of the short stacks get knocked out on the other table and every buddy is talking about the final table and I say that I don't have a passport yet, so a couple of them say I should knock myself out and take the $2200 because they said if I don't go to the final table I won't receive any money. I think about this for awhile, but mean while I knock another guy out with AQ vs. 88. I then decide that I will be able to get a passport in time, I have it now so I am good to go, and I am ready for the final table but I am only in 8th with 12 people left so I still have a long way to go. So somebody gets out on the other table and we are down to 11 and the short stack on our table goes all in and I am in the big blind with K 10 suited and I think about calling but I fold and he takes the blinds. The very next hand he is all in again and the chip leader calls him with KH 10H and the small stack flips over AA. Two hearts on the flop and one on the turn and now we are at the final table. There are 3 americans, 1 canadian, 2 australians, 1 norwegian, and I think the other people are from the france, netherlands, and denmark. Sorry for it being so long and sloppy but it is the best I could do.

Yep, was great. The comedians trying to con you to bust out early and lose $7,000+! Even over 7 hours, it seems it was decided by getting the right hands at the right times, and winning the right confrontations.
