Thank god for kids
I'm playing in the nightly 70k guaranteed at PokerStars and I'm doing pretty well. I hate sitting out hands because you just might miss that one double up hand in 100, but when my 9 year old asked me to carry him upstairs to bed I just couldn't say no. Sure enough, I came back to see that I had auto folded AK. Here's what the board looked like.

Karma train stopped at your house............great story.
Mine not so sweet. My 10 year old was watching the board for me while I made us lunch. She was calling out what cards I had and I would tell her what buttons to push. Well she is asking me about poker and what was what. (here is where I made my 1st mistake) "Daddy what is it called when the cards are all the same color?" I said its called a flush. "is that good", Yes thats very good, when I get a flush it means I have a very good hand..........."Daddy you have a flush what should I do" (here is mistake #2) I tell her to call the bet. I say "Juliann, what does it say now?" she says " You finished 74th Thank you for playing". I run into my office to see that the "flush" was 8 and 3 of spades which she called KK with. ALL of my hole cards where the same suit, so to her it was a flush. She will be 11 in Nov. and now has a very good understanding of poker and when NOT to go into daddys office. |
