| Televised poker championships How is it that these Pro players play some really crappy hands and squeak by with giga-winnings?? Is there something about a J - 7 off suit pairing that I am missing??? | re: Televised poker championships When the pros are playing J-7 they aren't playing the cards, they're usually just playing the player. They sense weakness, and know that they have some sort of tell or way to take the opponents chips. Not advisable for an amateur to try this, but the pros are able to. |

| Pay attention to the pros and you will notice as was said above that the player is playing the other player(s) (has a read on the other players) more than playing his hand although the hand does come into consideration at some point. You will notice that a lot of times the player will play a bad hand (maybe by raising or check raising0 and the other player(s) will fold. He has a read on them. That is one of the reasons that you need to keep track of who you play and how that play in certain situations as well as general play. That gives you a better read on that player and/or the other players. |
