I guess I have never really paid attention to it but have come to realize that on Ultimate Bet you can take notes on players. These notes stay on there until you delete them. I know other sites have spots for you to take notes also. My question its, what kind of notations would you make on some one. Aside from the obvious aggressive or tight.

Lots of things: playing tendencies (bluffs a bunch), likes to throw a lot of money around (good for the hourly average), is a rock (not good for the average), called me a "name" last time we played.. lol

...and specific things like, always raises when he has an Ace or goes all in pre-flop everytime he has a pair or will bet strongly on top pair....that sort of stuff.

I tried this live once, got a bit heated when a guy saw I had written "nice tits" about his wife though.

I do recommend taking notes on players though, specially if you see them at the same table a lot.

I'll type down how they bet or check if they have trips or if they try and bluff with a board of 5-2-2 or if they really have something, etc. A lot of players tend to play certain hands they have the same way over time, i.e. check raise with top pair, etc.

This comes in handy when I see someone in a tournament multiple times or if I am at the same cash game as them.

I take notes on every single player I play with in tournaments unless they fall out really quickly so I didnt get time to make notes on them. first I see how people play the preflop, and how often they bluff, how they play with alot of chips, how they play with a small stack etc. also I look how they chat with people, if they have a friend at the same table etc. it's a really good tool!

Grumble,

So how a note about the others guy wife's breasts is not gonna get your very far. Unless you can find out if they are fake. Then you know this guy made need the money. LOL.

Ok. I am not trying to offend the ladies out there. Just a little bit of pointless humor.

I make notes when people do incredibly dumb things like raise 1000 chips, then somebody goes all in for 1100 chips and the guy folds. stuff like that.

notes

i just tend to make small notes like tight or aggressive. then slow play against the aggressive ones when i have good hands and bluff the tight ones when they check.

I agree with Grumbledook. I play in a league and it is useful to have notes on people. That way you can remember how everyone plays.

When I first realized you could take notes on someone at UB, I started using them more for a way to take notes on myself. You can assign a color to each person. I would play in a tournament and assign all the people on the first table I played with a color. Then when I got moved to a different table I would assign those people another color. This way I would remember how I played against them as I like to change my style from one table to the next. If I met up with them on another table, I would know what worked with them. This was great until I realized that the dots don't go away at the end of the tournament..:embarasse . Was good in theory until I started a tournament with someone that already had a dot...lol.

This is a bit off-topic but deals with taking notes. Is it considered okay to physically take notes at a live brick & mortar game? Or do you have to file everything away mentally? I have very little casino experience and would like to avoid embarrassing myself if it's not cool to grab the notepad out of your shirt pocket during play.

I'll have to agree with klash, I dont take notes, mental ones yes, but i find that on-line ppl tend to be erratic with their style.

I don't know about that one rammer. I wouldn't think you would take actuall notes on people in person. Maybe after you leave the table or something otherwise all mental in person. Than again, I have yet to play in a live casino game. Will soon hopefully as I understand that Windstar in OK has Holdem Tables now. YEAH! That's only an hour away from me. That's a can do.:icon_thum

It's a good idea to take notes of your own play.. when/where/etc.. It can help you out a lot in the long run. Your own tendencies, when you play your best, etc.

I dont take notes on other players i play my hands for what they are worth. If you are feeling your hand see the flop and take it from their. IT COULD BE WORTH IT.

i also believe in taking notes,,,it really comes in helpful. i can be at the table and i c an n attached and i read it and it says he bluffs so bad,,,an he bets bets bets,,i call him with a good hand an i win. if i hadnt made that note i would have no clue he was a bluffer. i may not have played them in months,,,but the notes r still there

Notes are a great help. I take lots of notes and have run into many of these players again. It gives me an edge. Also at Ultimate Bet they have the ultimate buddy feature you can use. It can work 2 ways, either take you to a player who you enjoy being at a table with or to a sugar daddy when you need chips.
