Super System

I´m a newbie and i´m planning to buy a book. My first choice is Super System, but my question is (to them who has read the S.S.1 and 2): is Super System 2 an upgrade of the first one or it´s completely different?. Wich one is better?
Would you recommend me another book (i have "Hold em Poker For Advanced Players By Sklansky and Malmuth" but i´m gonna read it afterwards, because i have just 1 year playing and i consider myself as a newbie)?
I need your opinion.

Well if you go the super system route you need BOTH books! 2 doesn't have all the information 1 has namely various tables in the back of 1 aren't in 2. 2 has an internet poker section that is pretty good. 2 is an update to 1 you you still need 1. Now I buy every book Skylanski and Malmuth write not the easiest book to read but I am a big fan! Guess you could start with hold'em poker for dummies, but if you have been playing online regularly for a year don't be afraid to read the book you have, unless it is just plain over your head. SS1 won't be over your head! BTW Skylanski's stuff is mostly geared towards limit play. Which I think you should learn first anyways. The players who pretty much skip learning limit will never be as good as they could be! Learn the numbers first is how I like to put it

I have SS1 and think that the No Limit section written by Doyle is awesome. I can't speak for the others but the rest of my collection is The Theory of Poker by Sklansky and Mike Caro's book of tells both of which I haven't read fully yet.

I have read TJ's and Phil's books but Doyle's section on NL Holdem in SS1 blows them both out of the water. The reason, is because Doyle's section is sooooo practical. He tells you how he plays lot's and lots of hands and his reasoning behind his plays, a good number of which are non-standard and I have been able to incorporate them into my own game with success.

Next time, I'm lookin' for some instruction, I think I'll take the Xman's advice and buy SS2.

Thanks for the advice, but i have to aggregate that i´m not a completely online player. I like playing some sit & go with 8 or 9 friends, so if the book explains some tells or stuff like that it would be also great.

I have to say that i understand stuff like position or odds (hand, pot and implied), so i´m not a completely newbie.

With the answers now i´m a little confused about what book should i choose, so now i change the question to this: What book should i buy?

I've heard Harrington on Hold Em is a great book and its my next addition.

Phil Hellmuth's Play PokerLike the Pro's is a great book I've read several times.

Another great author aside the ones listed by others here is Tom McEvoy, he's a World Series main event winner and great author that writes in a straightforward easy to understand format. Hope this helps.

If you're interested in tells, you need to read Mike Caro's Book of Poker Tells. I have Super System 1 & 2, and I'm still plowing through them. A couple of quicker reads that I really enjoyed were Phil Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros, and Phil Gordon's Poker: The Real Deal. Gordon has a new book coming out in September which will be moreso geared to theory as opposed to fluff, and I can't wait to read that one.

I think some of the best tips are those written by various pros at Full Tilt Poker. It's like a series that you can access online or receive as emails if you are a member there. Jen Harman's essay on Razz made that one of my very most favorite games.
