Summer Goals!

So, only a few days of left of May. Time to set your summer goals, folks! Let's hear 'em!

Mine (valid until September 1st) are:
  1. Play 1500 hands per week of limit shorthanded ring (I don't really have time to play more than that)
  2. Re-read Psychology of Poker, and buy and read the NL Hold 'em book that Ed Miller and David Sklansky are releasing any day now.
  3. Take some shots at $5/$10 once my bankroll has recovered from the last downswing (grrrrrrrrr). At least 2000 hands played at $5/$10.
What are yours?

PokerStarsPokerStars is amongst the best places to play poker online that accepts US players. Use PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT for a $75 bonus.

TPTitan Poker are the top poker site on the iPoker network. Use the bonus code CC500 to get a 150% up to $500 Bonus.

My Goals: (pokerstars)

1. Continue playing a mixture of cash games and SNG's in hope of building my banroll high enough for $0.25-0.50 stakes NL.

2. Push my FPP over 500 and have a go at a satellite for the Sunday $1,000,000 guaranteed.

3. Win or place in top 9 of $1,000,000 Gauranteed

Ambitious yes, impossible?

I don't think so

1. push my earnings to $2000 a month.

2. qualify for titan pokers million mania tournament.

3. build a bankroll of $3000 on full tilt poker.

4. build a bankroll of $3000 on the prima network.

5. win a big online MTT. currently have the weekly $25,000 guaranteed every week on titan in my sights and the weekly $100,000 guaranteed on prima in my sights too.

1) Withdraw $500 from my poker account to send my wife to TX to be with her dying grandmother.

2) Since I will no longer have money in my poker account, build a bankroll starting at zero playing nothing but free rolls.

3) Build my bankroll back up to $750-$1000 by the end of summer without ever making a deposit.

The first goal is a must. The second two are personal goals I am setting just to challenge myself a little this summer.

I am getting married this summer, so my playing time will be reduced by a few weeks. I guess my main goal will be to try to double up my bankroll.

Should have made that goal a couple days ago and then you would already have achieved it with your big win yesterday!

Mine is to play more often, say 15 hours a week, and to get my bankroll high enough to move off the micros. Not sure why (well it is awfully nice outside to be sitting at my computer for extended periods) but I am not playing much lately so I am moving up even slower than before.

A little late for that advice now!! lol

Anyone hwo has put money into poker.com I'm sure how easy it is to make money there, so it shouldn't be hard to build a decent bankroll there at the higher limits. My PS bankroll will be a bit more difficult since I am still sitting just under the $100 mark. I will have to play a LOT more 5c/10c ring games there to get myself up to $200

To stay on the top of ThreeSixes hit list by cracking his Aces each and every time he gets them.
Oh...and to actually start building a Real bankroll instead of the $30 dollars I seem to stay stuck at.

1) Crack 3K in the ol' BR, and hopefully bring it up to 5K by february (i know, very [perhaps too?] optimistic)
2) I might do a SnG challenge (which would also help me progress #1^^^) like 100 or 500 SnGs to see how i fare.
3) Make sure i don't get stuck with another lady friend by the end of summer like i always seem to do every year :P
(obviously i'll still be seein the ladies, but not to the point of y'know, buying monthaversery presents and all that crap )

I'd really like to figure out why I apparently suck at ring games. For online play, here are my financial stats since last August:

MTTs: Up $485.90
SNGs: Up $97.70
Ring Games: Down $100.61

I think it may have something to do with the fact that I'm more bothered by the possibility of losing real money than I am by the possibility of losing tournament chips that I've already purchased at a set buy-in.

chuck i read in your bankroll thread that you have a bankroll of $1800. i started with a bankroll of $1000 and now make that in a month. if you have accumalated $1800 from a freeroll you should easily be able to make the same as me. there is absolutely no way i could of done what you done! how many hours a week do you play? if you fancy getting real serious on the money making side of things i'll send you my daily poker schedule.

i'm telling you bud - you must be real talented and you could easily hit the goals you set and alot more if you applied your skills in the right places!

thanks for the generous comments, allsopp
in all fairness, i won most of my first $1000 with two big MTT wins, and the rest has come from cash games and sngs
I'd love to see your poker schedule; I'm still a relative newbie to poker (~2 years) and am always seeking new advice and help.

ps. in reference to how many hours i play, a rough guess would be 20 + hours depending on how busy my non-poker schedule is.

*sorry for hijacking your thread, Fredrik

Survive at least 1 hand when I am in a dominating position eg KK vs QQ or AK vs AQ.

To cut out the yo-yo effect from my game

Chip stack goes up
Chip stack goes down

Bank roll goes up
Bank roll goes down

Also looking forward to PokerStars WCOOP tourney - just to qualify would be nice

Enjoy & Peace

well i finally got serious about the only 'measurable' goal on my list to quote Fredrik
I'm starting a SnG challenge - variance has been killing me at the rings, and MTTs cashings are far and few between for me.
I'm not sure how many i'll be doing in the end, but i'll have it up to over 100 for sure.
I basically have a notebook by my PC, and just note what tournament i played, how i placed, what my profits were, and a notes section.
In notes i just scribble in how i lost or what it was that was the key hand, and what i did wrong/right.
It's grinding at it's best and so far i'm only 3 for 9 in the money, but bubbled out 3 of my first 5 lol
I'm gettin there - it's much safer than cash games and the cashings are much more frequent than MTTs - i've forgotten how profitable sit n go's are
