Styrofoam's February bankroll challenge (to myself) Today is monday, February 2. My current Bankroll is 73$ on pokerstars. I plan on getting Pokertracker on friday after i get paid, so i can post updates with winnings. I'm posting this on here to keep myself honest, and to keep playing and keep getting better. I've been playing the 3+.40 SnGs on Pokerstars as well as the 4+.4 180 man sngs as well to upgrade the BR. Hopefully i can be up to over 200$ by the end of february w/o any additional deposits.

First look into getting Holdem Manager, there's a free trial so you can start using it before you get paid. GL wth your goal, and actually keeping a blog is great for these sorts of goals but posting to CC is awesome and something regs should probably be doing more of. Again, GL!

I really don't think pokertracker is worth it for playing micros. Just record your sessions with a site like checkyourbets.com or in an excel spreadsheet. Also, you could use a HUD like Hold'em Ranger which is free, but its really not necessary. I was able to play up to 10$NL with no HUD, and I'd play up to 9 tables of full ring at a time. Everyone is a fish at these levels, and the ones that aren't usually make themselves obvious pretty fast.

Just as an aside, setting monetary goals is just plain going to be a bad idea. Basing your goals on results will only give you a false sense of disappointment (if you fall short) or false sense of accomplishment (if you ran good). Base your goals on things like # of games played, or # of hours studying etc. Congrats on reaching it so early though.

I did. i put it in the get a game going forum. anyhow, one was yesterday and the other one was 2 days or 3 days ago. They aren't that bad. Sure the variance is a bit higher, but if you can make it with average chips to the break, you're in a great position to make the final table. I've been getting ITM about 50% of the time lately, and have been to the final table i think 3 or 4 times now. thanks for the advice c9. |
