I know there are tons of threads that are about bad beats but this one is different.
5 mins ago, i was playin with real money on a 10c NL table. I get dealt AK and raise up to about 40c and get 3 callers. Flop is: ![]() Player 1 (although i have lots of other names for him lets call him this) bets 30 which i then double. Turn is: ![]() He raises 50c which i double again and all the others have folded apart from player 1. River: ![]() He raises 50c and we keep raising til im all in. He flips over: ![]() What the f*ck is this ??? I was raising big the whole time and he jus raised and called with f*ck all and then hit a flush on the river. I suspected a flush draw and thats why i was raising a lot. I am so p!ssed off as i dont have a lot of money online and he took half of it. I hate playing with all these retards who just call and win. As you can see, this thread isnt about bad beats, but retard beats. Anyone else got any that come to mind that p!ss you off so much you wanna throw a brick at this other player ??? Last edited by woodsy44 : 26-11-2005 at 1:35 AM. |

Well at least you made your rant.. there is always going to be donks, retards, forest gumps(chasers), fishermen(need worms to fish for cards), suck outs, loose cannons, fishes and just plain dumb dumbs who will go after cards no matter what.

Woodsy, hope you don't get mad at me for justifying your opp's play but here goes:
On the flop, he had 4 outs to a straight (the J's) and a diamond on board. After he bet the flop, your mistake was that you didn't raise enough to protect your 2 pair. Risky to want to keep him in for more money. After he hit another diamond on the turn, his 4 outs turned to 12 (9 more diamonds plus 3 non-diamond Jacks). Even if he didn't know his break-even odds were 3 to 1, it was too juicy to pass up. Maybe an all-in there would have saved you. Then on the river, very very few bluffers would take your re-raises that far. You probably should have given up after his re-raise so you could save a few dollars. I too have a smallish bankroll and play micro-limit tables. I usually don't like to sit at a table with more than a $10 stack. But I'm learning that sometimes it is necessary to risk half or even all of my stack to protect a good flop with potential of improving for others. I slow down and make sure to read the board so I know its perils. Hope this helps. |
